This is the largest pet portrait I’ve ever done, measuring 18x25 inches. Of course, it’s in pastel - I don’t have enough decades left to live to do something this large in colored pencil! 😂🤣😂 The subject herself is a tiny, little wisp of a thing but her mom wanted a portrait “as big as her personality.” In pastels, I like to do the background first so that the fuzzy hairs around the edges don’t get lost. Hey friends! Spanky and I have been hanging tight these last few weeks. New stuff is in the works for the holidays , but also, I’m having to deal with the fact that Spanky is 15 1/2 and heading into whatever that next phase may be. We were at the emergency vet last week, then he seemed to bounce back, and now we are just taking life day by day. One day he is a ball of wild energy and the next day I’m not sure where we are heading. It’s life, I know, but it’s also still hard to watch your constant companion grow old. Dogs really get our heart and our souls. Natural treats: yay or nay? Do you give them to your pups? . Guess what...? Yesterday, I went to @ruff.dog and got some natural treats for the next few days. Needless to say, I was all over the place and my humans were always nagging me not to lick their stuff... but seriously... can you imagine a store with all these wonderful smells and tastes? I really wanted to try them all!
