Kermit stood out to me from the get go as a total goofball; he was so high energy and excitable at the time that he was sequestered from the other pups during the adoption event. Since then he’s chilled out and become my rock while still keeping his cheekiness. He now co-exists peacefully (most of the time) with his old cat lady sisters and enjoys swimming at the dog beach and hiking in the California foothills where we moved last year from Nola. I (we) can’t imagine life without him even if he still takes up too much of the bed. Meet Rue, the sweetest 2-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix weighing ~8 lbs. Rue was found tied up to a pole in his owner's backyard after his owner passed. Hi, my name is Pumpkin Spice, Pumpkin to my friends. I am a three-month-old little girl (born January 2024) with the most adorable hazel eyes. I seem to be a mix of any number of different pups including pit-bull and Labrador, but my foster mom say I am 100% sweet girl. My favorite things to do are play outside with my friends (some are furry like me and some are oddly hairless), play in the baby pool with my little hairless brother, go for lots of walks and of course I love to snuggle. My foster mom and little brother took me for a puppuccino at Starbucks and it was amazing!! All of the people there looooved me, which of course was no surprise and I made sure to hand out plenty of kisses. My foster mommy found me and is teaching me all sorts of fun things. I have this cute bell to use to ask to go outside (sometimes I have to potty and sometimes I just want to play but don’t tell her), I have my very own harness to learn how to walk with my little hairless brother (he is 1 and is so much fun to play with he also gives me lots of snacks from his fancy highchair), and best of all I have my own bed and stuffed turtle I cuddle with at night in my kennel. I love my foster mom and family, but I do hope to find my very own family I can protect and make happy someday. I have so much love and kisses to give! Hi, I'm Adeline! I found myself being given away on Facebook for free but luckily, my original owner was willing to work with Take Paws so they could find the best home for me! I landed in a great foster home with other dogs and cats, and been having a great time. I was born mid-January 2024 and I'm expected to be on the higher end of medium size, lower end of large size when I'm fully grown. My foster family says I'm super smart and already know a few commands. I walk well on a leash (around the yard and in the house since I'm not fully vaccinated yet) and love to play with the other dogs in my home - I even like the cats! I'm a huge fan of playing with toys and cuddling while taking a nap after getting my puppy energy out. I'm doing great with potty and crate training. I'm a Lab mix with maybe Beagle - which are both smart breeds, so I'll get the hang of training down in no time I'm sure! Sadly my last home didn’t let me inside once I started to grow bigger, so now I’m looking for a home that will love me as much as I’ll love them! I am a one year old Rottweiler mix. Meet LadyBug! Ladybug is a super sweet 6 month old lab/ terrier mix. She adores people (yes even children!) and all dogs no matter the size! She enjoys playing outside and learning new tricks as she is eager to please her future owner!! She is a little firecracker for sure! Ladybug is learning commands. April showers bring May’s dogs of the month! 🐶 Sisters Coco and Pickles are partners in crime, so this little package deal rules this month. Coco has been running playpen 3 for a while now. Her mom, who works from home, brings Coco in just to get some energy out and see if she could actually get some work done for a few hours. Coco is full of energy and has an incredibly playful spirit. Naturally her mom thought that it might be a good idea to get a playmate for her, and all of a sudden Pickles showed up. She melted our hearts with her teeny tiny forever puppy face, but don’t be fooled by her beauty. She’s in charge, especially of protecting her mom with her 10lb body from anybody on the street. I met Bart when he was placed with me as an emergency foster by NOBR. He had significant health problems and the veterinary team was worried that he may not survive treatment. Even so, NOBR never failed to support him, or me, during his (expensive!) healing process, which I’m forever grateful for. It wasn’t long before I decided to adopt him, and he’s since helped support many other foster dogs coming through our doors. Welcome Jimmy and Joe to TGD New Orleans! These two brawling Dalmatians made the very long trek from Chicago all the way to us here in Nola for help. They’ve had several fights and their owners are now in crate and rotate mode. Our goal will be to get them both in a healthier state of mind individually, once that’s in place we’ll work to see what the triggers are when they’re together, and then we’ll be working on addressing the triggers and resolving the tension. Take Paws pulled me from a shelter, because they knew I had star potential to find my forever home. No one really knows by back story but my friends tell me that I am the most funniest and goofiest boy out there. I love to play with my toys in the yard, but I mostly like when my friends hang out with me as I LOVE attention and will let you know that I love you over and over. I can be vocal as I can get really excited and try to sing the song of my people. Hi there, I’m Angus Aberdeen! My foster mom says I’m a Goofy, Loyal, Loverboy who will make your heart melt with my soulfully sweet gaze. I’m a handsome showstopper! I came into rescue as a stray in north Louisiana and now I’m getting all the love and attention I deserve while adapting to city living really well! I’m a 1yr old Pharaoh Hound/German Shepherd mix, about 50#, and I love to have my play time throughout my day, but I also enjoy a good nap and snuggle on the couch. Ideally I would love to have a yard to run in but I do fine with my foster mom giving me long walks throughout the day. I’m working with her to learn my manners and doggy boundaries but I am very smart and a sweet boy and I know I’m getting better every day. Some great things about me: love all people, potty trained, dog friendly with appropriate and slow introductions, I enjoy car rides with the wind in my hair, good on a leash with your direction, I’m good in the crate when needed, I tolerate my baths fine but would rather not take them of course, and I take gentle treats. I’m a 1 year old, 42 lb girl and I’m told that I’m a Catahoula Leopard Dog but I’m not sure what that means exactly. They also say that I’m pretty cute. I do get scared a little bit but I like other dogs and people a lot. I’m not a big fan of felines so if there is one in your house, I am probably not a good fit for you. POW! KAPOW! BOOM! BANG! My name is Clark Kent and I bravely fought my way out of a rural Louisiana kill shelter. Those super villains thought they were going to unleash kryptonite on me, but my foster mom, Wonder Woman, thwarted their evil attempt. I am a 45 lb, 11 month old Lab/Cur mix with a heart of gold. I’ve been held prisoner since I weighed 3 lbs. Despite growing up in a 3x5 cell, I am a well adjusted boy. I love to play with toys and ride in the car. My superpowers include: being a leashmaster, getting along with people, dogs and kids, minding myself in a crate, fly (just kidding), and coming when I’m hailed. I am house trained (with minor accidents until I settle down in a new environment) and love to snuggle on the couch. While I was held captive, those wicked villains injected me with some heartworms. My vet said on a scale of 1-4, I am barely a 1. The wormies have not damaged me in any way and I will be completely clear very soon! Hi, my name is Blue! I am a 4.5 month old American Bully mix heartthrob looking for "The One". Family, that is! If you've got a thing for big blue eyes and soft floppy ears, then you might already be under my spell. I'm a bouncy, playful, happy-go-lucky boy with the wiggly butt to prove it. I'm currently living with a nice couple, their grandson, and tiny, old dog. The couple says I'm very sweet and I love getting their attention and affection. I love chasing and playing with their 6 year old grandson, but I am teething and still learning puppy manners so I would do best in a home with older or no children. I am eager to learn all there is to know, as long as I'm with my family. I'm working on potty training by watching the senior resident dog, but I'm not a master at it yet. I'm starting to the think he doesn't exactly like when I try to play with him, but I just can't help myself! I really love to play!
