Pope (SSR #3077) will soon be making his way up north! He is a GSD, that is likely seven years old. ✔️house broken ✔️crate trained ✔️dog friendly ✔️cat curious ✔️loves attention ✔️polite on a leash ✔️mastered basic obedience This lucky boy was pulled off the streets right before the Arctic Freeze that hit Texas in January. He earned his name because he walked into a church to seek shelter, so Pope seemed appropriate. He is learning what it is to be loved by humans for the first time in his life and has been quiet in his crate with no accidents so far. He has completed two months of training, which has focused on basic obedience. So far he seems to get along well with other dogs and is warming up to cats. "I have always grown up with cats and as an adult wanted to have a cat of my own. The problem, my husband was not a cat person. In 2007 we were getting ready to celebrate my daughter’s first communion and her Aunt suggested she get her a kitten. I was nervous about the idea knowing my husband was not fond of cats. But we decided it was time for my daughter to have a pet. "We went to the shelter and saw a mother cat with all her babies and the only baby not spoken for was the one we chose. We brought this little kitten into the meet and greet room and she was so playful and had a very sweet personality. My daughter fell in love. We brought Lexi home (formerly Grace), she immediately became part of our family and we all fell in love with her, even my not a cat person husband. He loves her most of all. Lexi just turned 17 years old. She is still very sweet, sometimes cranky in her old age. But I can’t imagine life without her. Here we have our beautiful Viktor Krum 🥰 He is currently in foster with one of our lovely ladies and he looking for his perfect forever home 🙏🏼 Viktor is a handsome boy as you can see, he is nearly 6 months old and a little angel! Viktor is an American Bulldog x Staffy who has had a sheltered first part of his life and finds meeting new people worrying, he is quiet and you can see his little tail go between his legs but we are working hard on showing him people are good and they always bring treats! He needs someone who is willing to continue socialising him so everyone can see what a good boy he is. Viktor is great with children, dogs and cats and can live with any of the above, we would prefer him to go into a home with a confident, older, neutered dog who can show him the ropes but we also wouldn’t mind him going as an only dog if someone is willing to continue his socialising with other dogs as well. His toilet training is going well but his new owners need to be prepared for a little accident whilst he settles but generally he will only toilet outside. He does not like a crate at all, it stresses him out so he would need someone who isn’t going to leave him home alone all day where he will become destructive, ideally we would like him not to be left longer than 4ish hours. Viktor is chipped and vaccinated and will be rehomed on a neutering contract.
