Welcome to another #ThrowbackThursday of Norwell’s history. Today I am featuring one of the most famous Norwell homes, and one that I was lucky enough to recently sell. The Deane-Hartt home, located at 625 Main Street. This home is situated on Historic Main street. This Federal style home is warm & bright featuring notable architectural details that include a center entrance portico, twin chimneys, attached farmhouse shed, rustic three story barn & one of three original water towers. Defining character throughout all eleven stately rooms including four spacious bedrooms, eight fireplaces, a grand staircase, long center hall, front to back family room with hand carved moldings, preserved wide floors & high ceilings. Functioning double fireplace with beehive oven, large country kitchen & brick mudroom all rich in history. It was home to the Rev. Samuel Deane, who wrote the History of Scituate & is very well preserved from the 1800s. This one of a kind home has been carefully restored over the years. I can’t remember what I had for lunch (really...I can’t) but I remember with 3D precision where and when the I got my first pack of baseball cards, at Quick Pick in #norwellcenter It was a 1987 @topps cello pack with Joel Skinner on the top. That’s how much I loved baseball cards. And the #nuthigh ? 1985 topps set with the @rogerclemens rookie. I was willing to part with my birthday, Christmas and whatever else present to get that set with its $125 price tag. I didn’t get it. But when I became an adult, I realized you could scoop up any of those mid 80’s-mid 90’s sets for little more than a song. So for less than the amount it cost me in binder and card pages I am the proud owner of a 1985 topps set complete with Roger Clemens. Oakdale Farms is a 6th generation working horticulture and chicken farm in Southeastern Massachusetts, producing food for the local community. Stargazer Hollow is a small local family farm located in Walpole, studying regenerative agriculture, growing fun heirloom varieties of vegetables, harvesting colorful cut flowers, and raising runner ducks for eggs.

Influenced by the modern masters of photography and surrealism, specifically, Carrie Mae Weams, Ralph Eugene Meatyard, Duane Michals and Rene Magritte, Stephen Sheffield creates images that are often heroic and dreamlike at the same time. Each image could be considered a performance and the dark suited “everyman” is the muse with Sheffield inhabiting the suit or a diminutive stand-in.
