Me and my family are trying to raise funds for my cousin Eduardo Lopez that we suspect was brutally assaulted in West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. On April 1st 2024, he was experiencing an acute schizophrenic episode that led to his caregivers (parents) call 911 for assistance. He was placed in a jail (West Valley Detention center) instead of a mental health hospital even after the mother had informed the officer that they were calling to request mental health assistance for him. While in jail parents were being told Eduardo did not want any visitations which was odd to them because it’s not very like him, he loves his parents very much, as he’s lived with them all his life. On his court date he was not present because parent were informed that “he refused” which again was very odd and unlikely of him. Couple days later My aunt (the mother) receives a phone call from a doctor at Pomona Valley hospital medical center stating Eduardo is in a coma after experiencing two heart attacks. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is seeking public help to locate a critically missing teen. Authorities say 14-year-old Valeria Ibanez is 5 foot tall, weighs approximately 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt, with gray pants and white shoes. Ibanez hasn’t been heard from since around 7:23 p.m. Saturday. She was last seen in the 5200 block of Elizabeth Street in Cudahy. Los Angeles General Medical Center is again asking the public’s help to identify a patient. The Boyle Heights hospital is currently treating a woman who was found unresponsive at an apartment complex in downtown Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services says the woman is believed to be between 40 and 50 years old with a thin build standing 5 feet 1 inch and weighing only 86 pounds. Los Angeles General Medical Center is asking the public’s help to identify a woman who was found unresponsive in downtown L.A. on April 18, 2024. (Los Angeles General Medical Center) She has dark brown or black hair and blue eyes, officials said, as well as a small tattoo on her right forearm. She was brought to the hospital Thursday after she was found at the Ford Apartments at 1000 E 7th St. in downtown Los Angeles. Police are investigating the gruesome discovery of a b*dy inside a stolen U-Haul truck in Los Angeles’ Mid City neighborhood on Thursday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Apple Street and Redondo Boulevard shortly before 11 a.m. after a resident reported smelling a foul odor coming from the truck. Officers and a U-Haul employee found the b*dy wrapped in a tarp in the back of the vehicle. Blood was also found inside the truck. Detectives say the vehicle had been stolen about a week ago and then abandoned on Apple Street just south of the 10 Freeway – an area that residents say is plagued by illegal activity and dumping. No information about the victim was immediately released. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy by the coroner’s office. A Los Angeles police officer who fatally shot a 14-year-old girl inside a clothing store in 2021 will not face charges, the California attorney general announced on Wednesday. Valentina Orellana-Peralta was shopping with her mother at a north Hollywood Burlington Coat Factory on 23 December 2021 when the LAPD entered to apprehend a man suspected of attacking customers in the store. When officer William Dorsey Jones Jr fired three rounds at the man, Valentina was in a nearby dressing room with her mother praying and was killed by Jones’s gunfire. The killing just before Christmas sparked national outrage, and the California justice department has been investigating it for years, following state law requiring inquiries into all fatal police shootings of unarmed victims. The California department of justice said on Wednesday that there was “insufficient evidence to support a criminal prosecution” of the officer. The state’s attorney general, Rob Bonta, released a report on the investigation, which recommended that the LAPD “consider updating their communication training bulletin and any related training to account for the type of situation presented during this event”. The lack of charges comes despite an LA police commission ruling in 2022 that Jones had violated policy during the shooting, a rare rebuke from the civilian oversight group. The commission said Jones’s second and third shots were not justified. Authorities are searching for a man who brutally att*cked a Metro bus driver over the weekend, leaving him hospitalized with serious injuries. The att*ck happened on Saturday at around 10:30 p.m. on 119th Street and Wilmington Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators. They say that the bus driver was driving his route when the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Darnell Marshon Bray, began to yell at him. When he stopped the bus, the suspect “without provocation punched the victim in the facial area then proceeded to stab the victim in the chest,” said a release from LASD. Deputies say that the victim was able to briefly get away from Bray, exiting the bus in an attempt to flee. Bray followed him outside, but walked in the opposite direction northbound on Wilmington Avenue. The victim, who is recovering after spending time in the hospital for treatment on injuries suffered during the attack, told investigators that the suspect used brass knuckles and a knife that was attached to them. Bray is wanted for attempted murder and is believed to be armed and dangerous. The family of 53-year-old Albert Vasquez is asking for the public’s help finding the person responsible for brutally be*ting the hairstylist, who is g*y, outside a West Hollywood nightclub nearly two weeks ago. “It’s 10 days now and we don’t have anything,” sister Gloria Jimenez said. “He’s only saying he was attacked.” Jimenez said her brother and friends went back and forth between Gym Bar and Heart WeHo located on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood when Vasquez was beaten outside. She hopes witnesses who saw what happened come forward with more information about the possible suspect. “We know he was with certain friends at a bar and from that bar he walked to another bar because they were next to each other,” Jimenez said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they received a call for someone in need of medical attention around 11 p.m. on April 5 but did not find Vasquez. Jimenez said her brother was taken to the hospital by an EMT. Investigators said deputies learned about the attack four days later after Vasquez woke up after surgery. “His skull was fractured in two places,” she said. “He had part of his scalp removed to allow his brain to expand because of all the inflammation that the brain’s going through.” Vasquez moved from New York to West Hollywood during the pandemic. His family fears that this attack may have been a hate crime. “We’ve heard different things and we’re not sure what to believe at this point,” Jimenez said. Two people have been arrested for an alleged ambush robbery near Lincoln Park and police are searching for more potential victims. Investigators say that one of the suspects, 23-year-old woman Magdalena Gallegos, lured two victims that she met on social media to an apartment in the 2900 block of N. Main Street, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department. When they victims arrived inside of the apartment, two male suspects emerged from where they were hiding and held them at gunpoint while demanding their property, the statement said. One of the victims was also struck by a handgun. Police identified one of the two men as 26-year-old Sergio Carrillo. The suspects were reportedly seen driving a blue, four-door 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. Both Carillo and Gallegos were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of robbery and being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. The third suspect remains at large.
