#thursdaybuildday returns with the Eleanor Mustang from FanHome. Quite an impactful delivery this month with the completion of the interior. The instructions were tough to read and see where things needed to go but we got there in the end. My steering column does not engage with the steering bar so my steering doesn’t work. I’m going to leave it be at this point. It’s not worth it enough to me to take things apart and take the time to figure out why. It’s not going to be used when it sits on my shelf under the GT40 and garage lift. HUGE shoutout to my friend @ranger_hans! My Deagostini Ford GT40 has been finished for quite a while but I made a mistake shortly after it was finished of not securing the engine cover when I moved it. It flipped open and both of the metal chains that run from the engine cover to the rear suspension broke. He was nice enough to send me a couple of spares he had and my GT40 is now finished…again...as the instructions inscribed! It’s been over two years since this car was finished and it’s still just stunning. It’s fun to look back on all the updates, look through the magazines (which I still have all 159 magazines) on it and revisit how it came along and became one of the coolest things I’ve ever done and garnered such a first-class display in the Forney Museum. #thursdaybuildday went into Friday this week but Pack 6 of the Enterprise-D from FanHome is finished. There are so many things to like about this model as it is but when it came down to it a full replacement of the electrics became necessary to make the ship how I want it. Lots of mods and electrics but I am so happy with how this is going! I am so burnt out and tired of this build. No fault of the car or the model but the pure logistics of getting deliveries of parts for this has been a nightmare from the beginning. Between the pandemic, supply chain delays, and Eaglemoss not sending me parts for almost a year before they went under and now FanHome delaying my progress as they wait for an out of stock stage (going on three months now) I’m just over it. If I wasn’t in so deep on it there’s a possibility that I would just wash my hands of it and give up…I’ll throw a party when it’s done.
