“I’m a pusher. I push people. I push myself.” -Mean Girls But it’s true, though. I do push. And sometimes (gasp) I push wayyyyy too hard. But let’s face it, no matter how hard I push, everything happens in God’s timing. The last few days I have heard the same message over and over again. Like the stubborn ass I can be, I ignored it completely until God was literally like, “Listen to what I’m trying to tell you, ya dummy!!!” I think about my two year old and how many times I tell her not to do something, yet she continues to do it over and over again until there’s a negative consequence. Turns out, that’s the exact relationship I have with God. He tells me over and over again what to do and I blatantly ignore it until there’s a negative consequence. It’s no big secret or surprise that I’m an impatient person. The reality is that most of us are. We are victims of our circumstances...beings brought up in a world full of instant gratification. So when we want something, we want it now. Unfortunately, the things that are really important (relationships, births, deaths, success, etc) usually don’t happen when we want them to. Those things are GOD’S TIMING. As badly as I want to be the first million dollar earner in my company, I have to realize that that’s up to God. Sure, if I ask for a hole and God gives me a shovel, I better get my ass to digging!! And that’s what I’m doing every day! I keep on digging! And as long as I continue to do the work and remain grateful for the opportunity that I’ve been given, I will open myself up to receive the blessings that God is ready to give to me. I heard a very successful guy on a podcast today say, “The true key to success is starting and ending the day with gratitude. Last night I dozed off on the couch. When I woke up and started shutting the house down (collecting legos, throwing away trash, shutting off lights, etc.) I realized that I was behind on my daily goal and had to knock it out.
