My 4th Broad Street Run is in the books! New corral, new paces, new adventures. And it all paid off with a new course record, beating my 2021 time by 22 minutes! Here’s a yummy HEALTHY option for today’s Cinco De Mayo 🌮🌮🌮 ZUCCHINI CHICKEN ENCHILADAS! Makes 5 servings Per serving 1 Leaner protein 3 vegetables 3 condiments 1 fat 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil 1 cup leeks chopped ¼ tsp kosher salt 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp. ground cumin 1 tsp. chili powder 18 ounces Shredded chicken breast 1 c. red enchilada sauce 2 1/2 pounds zucchini, halved lengthwise 1 c. Shredded low fat Monterey Jack 1 c. shredded low fat Cheddar 2 Tbs Sour cream, for drinking Preheat oven to 350º. In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add leaks. Cook until soft, 5 minutes, then add garlic, cumin, and chili powder and stir until combined. Add shredded chicken and 1 cup enchilada sauce and stir until saucy. On a cutting board, use a Y-shaped vegetable peeler to make thin slices of zucchini. Lay out three, slightly overlapping, and place a spoonful of chicken mixture on top. Roll up and transfer to a baking dish. Repeat with remaining zucchini and chicken mixture. Spoon remaining 1/3 cup enchilada sauce over zucchini enchiladas and sprinkle with cheeses. This book is not about some theories or opinions on faith. It is about really walking by faith. It is about taking God at His word and walking, and about what happens as you go. I get to share on my faith experiences over the last 25 years of my life following Jesus and going where He leads. The reason a church would get carried away by worldliness as we see today is many have forgotten what it means to walk by faith. You see, faith is only talk and hot air until we capitulate to God's will. Until we surrender to the fact that God’s ways, even though sometimes uncomfortable and less popular in society, are way better and higher than man's ways. Faith means you are NOT in charge, and you don't get to decide what is right or wrong. You take your orders from the King, from Jesus. That you persist in taking orders from Jesus even when compromising on His standards looks easier and more acceptable in society. Living by faith is refusing to cave to culture because you know that God, YAHWEH is incomparably superior. Faith gives you the prerogative to choose God no matter what the world tosses at you. The nation of Israel was God's firstborn among men. They were God's chosen people to show the world what being a nation under God looks like. God warned Israel not to embrace the ways of other nations, not to even entertain the tiniest hint of paying homage to their gods, or they would relinquish their position of spiritual authority. But Israel chose to embrace other gods and other ways and lost their position of spiritual authority in the world. That spiritual authority now lies with the church. The church of Jesus Christ is like a nation unto itself under God. We are of the everlasting Kingdom of Heaven. Our constitution is the Bible. Our ways are not the ways of this world, and by no means should we entertain the ideas of the gods of this world. Just like mixture led to the loss of spiritual authority for the nation of Israel, the church today that embraces the ways of this world and mixes them with the ways of our God even with the most sincere intentions has lost spiritual authority to change the world. You cannot change the world if you are like it. You've got nothing different to offer. But, if we steadfastly walk in the name of the Lord our God, YAHWEH, Elohim, not turning this way or that way, but staying our eyes on Jesus, we have spiritual authority to be the salt and light of the world. All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever. Adeline chose @bindisueirwin for her 2nd grade biography project. Today, she presented her information in both English and Spanish to families and students at school. She was able to display some of the things she received in the mail from the American office of the Australian Zoo. I know that the thought of your child being sad can feel intimidating when you don’t know how to help them. It can feel overwhelming, make you sad yourself and can make you as a parent feel helpless. But here’s what has helped me let them get their feelings out by listening, but it’s important for them remember who they are. So talk about their strengths and their amazing qualities. That’s the same things that I do with our young people. We encourage them to challenge their negative thoughts and practice positive self talk. It’s not always the easiest to get them to listen when you’re the parent. Sometimes they need to hear it from someone else. That’s what I’m here for: To make the process of helping them learn about growth mindset as smooth and stress-free as possible! We work with them to help them understand how their mindset impacts their life. The best version of you, the version God sees, is found on the narrow road. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. Golda (2023) will be of interest to those who enjoy history, drama, and war-related content. Helen Mirren’s performance in the film is decent but not new or impactful. While the film provides informative details and a compelling story, the pacing and flow are uninteresting.
