5. Skyrush There’s only 1 Skyrush. The cable lift to the top is so fast and shockingly so if you’re not expecting it. The first drop just yanks you down into that right turn and then the first majestic airtime hill. Quite possibly the craziest, most powerful airtime anywhere ever. Then another turn and more violent airtime. Then another turn and more airtime. Did I mention airtime? Because there’s even more of it. AND there’s the additional madness of the winged seats on the outside of the train! I rode Skyrush in its opening year and, even though I wasn’t a full-on enthusiast yet, I knew this was the best roller coaster I had ever ridden. People always complain about the restraints being uncomfortable but they don’t bother me at all. Honestly, I think the restraint design adds to the thrill and fun of the ride because they are holding onto your body with such a small surface area. Every time I go to Hersheypark I immediately take the little path along Spring Creek and head straight to Skyrush. It was looking absolutely radiant this season reflecting off the water too. During the 2022 season I had an out of body experience on Skyrush. It was really hot and humid that day and oh my goodness gracious it was the best ride I’d ever gotten. I was absolutely blown away. Laughing, kicking, and waving hysterically. I later described that ride as “my soul was yeeted into oblivion.” Can’t wait to ride again. 8. Wildcat’s Revenge ALRIGHT RIDERS! Ready to have some fun? It’s Wildcat’s Revenge time … in 3, 2, 1 HersheyPark hit a home run with this addition in 2023. An absolute masterpiece. Every element hits throughout the entire ride. Even the prelift section is the best on any RMC I’ve ridden. A compact layout that’s packed with forces. The first airtime hill features sustained ejector and the first zero G roll is such a quick inversion with a little airtime too. And on top of all of that the music in the station gets everyone hyped. I think it is such a flex that the final brakes go right over the queue line, showcasing how every single rider is feeling exhilarated from what they just experienced. I am SO HAPPY my home park added this ride, and, for the most part, if the weather was nice and I didn’t have to work, I was in Hershey riding Wildcat’s Revenge.
