My morning shown in pictures. If you’ve been following my stories (saved in calving season highlight) this will be an update for you. A quick synopsis: calf in barn with mamma with big teets seems to be getting milk, we aren’t sure it’s enough, more to come on them. Took water to the cow in the pasture that had calving paralysis and couldn’t get up. Good news, she is still wobbly but getting up! We take her water so she doesn’t have to go all the way to the water trough. She also has hobbles on her back legs to keep her from injuring herself while she heals. Made a bottle for the cow aboves calf that’s in the shop. He has something wrong with his “passenger front” as Kyle calls it. He can’t put weight on his front leg. Why? We aren’t sure! Possible dislocated shoulder? Vet gave him a steroid to help with inflammation. All we can do now is wait and see. He might be ok and he might not. That’s the hard thing about farming.
