Day 41 - Day 45: Slowly we’re getting around to the east coast of Ibiza. We really enjoyed the west/north coast with its stunning bays. Anxious to see what this side of Ibiza has to offer! So, have we been up to over the past 5 days? Day 41 - we stayed another night in Sant Miquel. We hiked across the hill to Benirràs to join the sunset ritual. Nice vibes, many chilled people on the beach, but unfortunately no hippie drummers. Apparently they don‘t do Sundays anymore!! Day 42 - our next anchorage was in Caló des Porcs - one of my many favorite places - hope we can go back there before we cross over to Mallorca. This bay was very peaceful, the sea was calm, the water clear and inviting! Day 43/44 - only a few miles around the corner is Cala de Portinatx. A little bit more lively than the previous stops. A good place for us to top up on fruit, veggies and beverages. We anchored for 2 nights, allowing us to explore the area. Generally the north/west/east coast has some really good hiking trails. On our hike here we came across this lost place in Cala d’en Serra - a hotel they never finished building and now seems to be a kind of art base. Since I didn‘t have my „real“ camera with me, I had to go back the next day to take some pics. Yeah! And we found another lost place - just in front of our anchorage - a shut down „water park“. I was delighted!! Day 45 - that is today! We are anchoring in Punta Grossa. Just one other boat with us. Great cliffs, interesting rock formations, caves to explore and beautiful water. Hope we can find a path somewhere leading us to the top of the cliffs. Apparently there is another lost place waiting for me! Day 37: Ses Balandres is our current anchorage. Once again this is another beautiful spot on this earth. The approach from San Antonio - where we stayed in the marina for the night to top up on water and groceries - was stunning. There is so much to explore here that I’m sure we might be staying for a couple of days. Day 35: Today we left Es Jondal after anchoring for 5 days in this nice bay. This bay/beach is well known for the Blue Marlin Beach Club. Of course we could not resist to observe this place …. We have scraped, sanded, fixed any soft spots (nothing major thanks to @hallbergrassy for building such strong sailboats!) and finished the primer! 🤩 The Swizzle is looking better every day and we can't wait to see her looking like new! 🎨 What color do you think the bottom will be? The bottom of boats has to be painted with a special anti-fouling paint to prevent the growth of barnacles and other sea creatures, protecting the integrity of the boat. 😅 As you can see from the previous pictures we posted, it had been quite a long time since anyone took care of the bottom... We sailed Lyra home from the shipyard in Vordingborg yesterday. And it was grey and freezing all the way. We even had a bit of ice on the boat in the morning! 🥶 But, none the less it feels great to be back on water! We kept warm on the way with plenty of hot tea and coffee. Today when we woke up in Korsør the sun was shining - and it feels like springtime. Danish weather can be hard to predict. Could be snowing next week, who knows! Since we missed our connection flight due to a late Ryanair flight from Bremen to Vienna we had to stay in Vienna fr one night. The Rasmus 35 was designed by the leading Swedish designer of elegant yachts of the 1960s, Olle Enderlein. 760 boats were made during twelve years between 1967 and 1978. The name "Rasmus" is the God of Winds in Germany. The design of the Rasmus 35 was in many ways ahead of its time. It was the first sailing yacht in the world with a windscreen.
