I’ve finally finished this pattern by DadaPlace. The material includes 100% Lion Brand cotton yarn, small beads, and cotton embroidery floss. I also put fleece circles behind the noses to give it some extra support and so that little baby toes don’t get caught in the thread (The front my be pretty, but the back isn’t). When asked how long this took me to make, I say, “longer than I care to admit”. But to my whole two followers I will tell the secret to…200 hours. To be fair, I’m don’t try to go fast when I crochet. I also mess up a lot which contributes to my hours. I find crochet very meditative and leisurely. When I was out taking pictures my friends dad came over to see it. Just finished the boho rust and farm blankets! They are so soft and adorable together. All they need are their labels and they are ready to go! B is for blanket stitching which I sew on each edge of the receiving blankets. B is for bed- where some of them get stitched when my body is fighting my creativity. B is also for blessed. I still get to teach two classes a day of high school art. That is what makes me wake up with a smile every morning. I love my job. All this art is just a creative outlet for days when I feel good, or need a distraction. The infamous 💕+ 💙 swaddle🤱🏻 Did you know that they are called Kuddle-Up blankets? In 1910, man named A.L Mills from Illinois originally decided that he wanted to create butcher aprons, which later on led him to create surgical attire. Around 80% of women in the 1950’s gave birth in hospitals, so it was about time that garments received an upgrade. Mills decided to conduct market research and asked women what they would do to spice up the once dull beige cloth, as Mills opted to transform it with a touch of pink and blue and added stripe. Why do hospitals use the same swaddle each time a baby is born? 1. The combination of the pink and blue stripes makes this linen gender-neutral so there’s no need for swapping. 2. These blankets are oftentimes cheaper than their patterned counterparts. 3. Because of their popularity, they are easier for nurses and doctors to identify amongst their linens.
