And by āpicture perfectā I mean an unmedicated, v@ginal birth in a birthing centre with immediate skin to skin and baby latching within the first hourā£ ā£ But not long after that, all hell broke loose ā£ ā£ Because even though it was natural, it wasnāt coming to me naturally as a first time momā£ ā£ You donāt have to experience breastfeeding challenge after challengeā£ ā£ What if you could *actually* have a breastfeeding experience you enjoyed?ā£ ā£ I know itās possible because I did end up getting to a point where I enjoyed breastfeeding my first born ā£ ā£ I went from cracked nipples, painful latches and low supply to exclusively breastfeeding and continued breastfeeding for 17 months. ā£ ā£ I even became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant because of my experience! ā£ ā£ This is what happens inside my group academy. ā£ ā£ š¤°š¼First, Iāll help you set yourself up for a peaceful postpartum. Youāll learn how your body is changing after birth and how you can support your physical recovery and transition into motherhoodā£ ā£ š¶š¼Then youāll learn more about your baby. The experience of pregnancy can vary widely. Each pregnancy can be so very different, while some aspects of a second pregnancy might be easier due to previous experience, there are no guarantees that it will be the case for everyone. Possible Easier aspects: ā¢ Experience: You know what to expect, so some of the fear and anxiety related to the unknown might be less. ā¢ Early Recognition: You may recognize pregnancy symptoms earlier and know how to manage them better (including not suffering through nausea and vomiting, talk early to a health professional!) ā¢ Preparedness: Having been through a delivery before, you might feel more prepared and less anxious. Possible More difficult aspects ā¢ Physical Strain: You may find that you are much more tired, you have a younger child to look after and it is sometimes harder to rest. Nausea can also be worse as fatigue and nausea go hand in hand. -pressure on your pelvic floor- after a first pregnancy, the pelvic floor is always slightly weaker and stretched, often women will feel increasing pelvic pressure the more pregnant they are. It is important to do your pelvic floor exercises and see a physiotherapist if needed. ā¢ Different Symptoms: Every pregnancy is unique, so you might experience different symptoms this time around. ā¢ Showing much earlier: expect to show much earlier with your second pregnancy and you tend to feel bigger earlier. Some women find they look at least four weeks bigger than they did with their first, but donāt worry, this settles by about the end of the second trimester. ā¢ Shorter Time to Prepare: If you already have a child, you might find you have less time to focus on this pregnancy, both emotionally and practically. This is very normal, some women feel at times guilty with their second pregnancy, when they were much more focused with their first (including baby apps with size and development) and doing more research! Variables: ā¢ Age: The age gap between your pregnancies can also impact how easy or difficult the second one feels. ā¢ Health Conditions: If there have been significant changes in your health since your first pregnancy, this could affect your second pregnancy experience
