🤯I’ve been listed in the Global Village as “a must see show” which is pretty damn cool but also how cool is the outfit the editor of this poster drew on me 😂! … I love it! All these little cultural differences when performing internationally… all the little changes that happen in the show. I’ve made some adaptations to my performance here in Dubai, same as I do in Europe, UK or the USA … it’s the joy of my job when I get to explore what translates / and doesn’t when working in a new country. My dear Bow for whom I had all the last years successes and and adventures to thank for, went missing in transit from Canada to Germany. Sam Prest and I built the bow from scratch while we were living on a barge in Australia way back when I was starting out, and losing it made me realise it was the one physical thing I owned that meant that much to me. Well I’ve gone and dried up my tears, met a new bow who I’ve reconfigured for my act. It’s not love at first sight, but we’ve been training 4 hrs a day under a bridge together and Im starting to believe in us. If I learnt anything the past years it is that change is hard, but that’s okay.☺️ Let new adventures begin. Romania! Its me! I’m back! Insider secret… It’s been 10years since I’ve last been here, and being booked to perform here in Satu Mare means much more than just working at another festival to me. 10years ago I was a very different person and my journey to not only live life as an artist, but to put in the energy to do it full-time and make it happen was realised right here! It’s a special moment for me, like a child returning to a parent after going off to boarding school. Even though I’ve learnt so much in the meantime, it’s like I’m back at the beginning in some ways… learning to count to 10, ha! But in Romanian 😉. Making progress! Things are pointing upwards! 😊… in the midst of certain recent events that were super emotionally tough for me, I’ve also had a special breakthrough. last Friday I finished my 9 week intensive course - 5 days a week 8hr zoom classes - meaning needing to start with circus training from 6am in the morning before class begins… one of the most intense learning experiences I’ve been through in the last years! Mostly cuz of all the sitting still, not the early starts 😂. I have so much renewed respect for all you students and office workers for realz OMG 😳 Looking forward to putting all the newly gained knowledge into action a la twister😉.
