Wait…. What’s this… more Yildiz Pullover?!!! It is. Sorry not sorry. I love everything about this sweater from the fit of it to the clarity of the pattern to the engaging and rhythm creation of it. As a fluffy girl there is usually a point while knitting a sweater where I’m just kinda over it…. But not this one at all. I knit a size 5 in two weeks! And I have five kids, well four at home but you still worry about your adult kid, a husband that is gone for work, middle of the move pack out, and every single end of the year homeschool event known… all that to say, I am not a fast knitter or do I have an abundance of time. This sweater calmed my nerves at the end of the day when it was just me time. I can’t recommend enough…. • • T U N D R A B A N D A N A C O W L • • aka ✨ Starlight Cowl ✨ @starlightknittingsociety is everything you could dream of, wrapped up in one cozy LYS. For the @rosecityyarncrawl this year, @spincycle_yarns soft-launched their new base Plump at Starlight, in one of the shop’s exclusive colorways. It was so exciting to get to be one of the first set of hands on the new bulky, color-shifting yarn and it’s everything you’ve dreamed. Of all of the rad things Starlight has to offer, their collection of shop-exclusive colors and bases is incredible. I’ve had their special Aran base, Mischief, from @thefarmersdaughterfibers on my list since I realized I missed it at the 2022 RCYC. I managed to find a lone skein of black and it was simply meant to be - Mischief pairs perfectly with Spincycle Plump! Two special, Starlight exclusive yarns, together for one project?! Fuck yeah! I knew these yarns were going to be a brioche project, as I’m always down for extra squish, stripes, and meditative knitting. I’ve been waiting to get one of @lavanyapatricella’s patterns on my needles since before I even knew how to brioche, and her lineup of bulky brioche patterns was perfect. I flip flopped on which to use- I initially cast on the Bulky Brioche Slouch Hat, but decided I wanted to try and use all of the Plump’s 100 yards. Triangle shaped cowls are my jam, and Lavanya’s Tundra Bandana Cowl is perfection. I knit per pattern, but added some edging to the bottom (borrowed from @rinalehhman_’s Glowing Dusk Cowl) for a little more black in the project. While this does make the cowl not reversible, I knew I’d be wearing it with the black side facing out. I added three rounds to the neck of the cowl, but could’ve gotten away with quite a few more, as I had 19g of Plump left in the end. This project took like two days, and only because I knit 4” of a beanie first. A couple more shots of the beautiful Plump Cardi. @knittingruinedmylife released this pattern yesterday and let me tell you this one is so fun to knit up! Short rows are used to create the cute little curved hem and thoughtful details like the I cord around the armholes and the folded button band make this cardi really special. And of course, the new @spincycle_yarns base Plump does not disappoint! I loved watching all of the colors unfold in this colorway that reminded me of a New Mexico sunrise. . . .
