Well I guess I’m officially a studio scale builder now because I’ve started buying kits and working on a prototype for my next project while in the middle of my current one. This would’ve been a self imposed cardinal sin back in my days of building scale armor models. “Thou shalt not start a new kit before finishing another.” I’ll be building the Empire Strikes Back version of the AT-ST, aka the “Chicken Walker”. I’ve always loved this version ever since I saw it in the movie as a kid and the audience let out a collective “WTF was that?!!!”. Plus, I’m a legs guy so there ya go. Small (but somewhat time-consuming) update on Sandy :) I started this part a couple of weeks ago while displaying at SCI-FI-CON here in Denmark ... last night I finally got around to laying last coat of primer on the piece, and attach it to Sandy. Doesn't seem like a lot .. guess it isn't as such ... but all the ribbing (is that even the correct term :D ) are hand cut, as I didn't have any Plastruct or Evergreen profiles the correct size ..... plus they were handcut on the original Studio Model ..... so felt a bit more authentic to handcut as well ... getting small imperfections here and there :) Super happy with the result ... Made some modifications to the torpedo tubes. I started by drilling in both sides then carved the outlets out enough to get in with a drill. I then drilled down where the tube would go, gave it a good sand and inserted some 8mm styrene tube. Making progress on the Probe Droid Pod. Front and rear were made from styrene and glued into position. This was no small feat as the rear one was pentagon shaped with side pieces and had to be glued in place from the inside.
