Super Mutant “Doctor”! Finally hit the deadline for this school project, my first character in Maya. I wouldn’t call it 100% finished, but honestly I’m pretty happy with where I was able to get this to in the 2.5 weeks off and on in my free time. I would love to do a few other passes on most areas, but the deadline pushed me to make sure I had a complete project, and also forced me to move on from sections, I’d probably still be working on anatomy right now without it. The goal for this project was to really learn the Maya workflow, so I created this from scratch without using base meshes like I normally would. It took longer, but I was able to learn UV and retop tools for Maya, which I actually really really like. The Fallout TV show got me back in my Fallout obsession, so I came up with a concept for a Super Mutant character who believed they were a doctor. While the accuracy of their title may be up for debate, I really like the having Super Mutants who aren’t just completely brutish and still have personalities, albeit a little quirky. Huge shoutout to @iamjonahlobe for his work and discussions on the Fallout super mutants, really big inspiration for this project when figuring out the design and anatomy. I also took a ton of inspiration from the late great Adam Adamowicz concepts. Definitely recommend checking those out if you haven’t, really iconic work. 지브러쉬는 무한히 수정할 수 있는 장점이자 단점이 있습니다. 손으로 만드는 피규어는 체력적으로, 그리고 재료의 한계로 어느순간 타협하고 완성을 해야하는 지점이 있습니다. 저도 아이클레이나 스컬피, 퍼티사용하면서 자주 느낌..ㅎㅎ 지브러쉬로 일러스트 하나를 붙잡고 무한히 수정하다보면 끝이 안납니다;; 성격상 하나 아쉬우면 끝없이 고치는 성격인가 봅니다 ㅎㅎ. 그래서 지브러쉬 연습작에 완성이 잘 없음..ㅋㅋ 여튼, 생각을 전환해서, 일러스트가 아니라, 누군가 손으로 만들어 둔 피규어를 따라 만들어 봤습니다. 그래서 이 지브러쉬 결과물은 이걸로 완성입니다.(아마도...^^;) 위의 핀터레스트에서 주운 일러속 캐릭터를 누군가 피규어로 만든것을 모작해 봤습니다.
