🇬🇧 Yesterday’s Sun in H-alpha (Hα). What to say about experiencing a total eclipse, I still have a lot of difficulty expressing my day yesterday. Due to technical reasons and limited preparation, I decided to capture the eclipse in Hα. My primary goal was to live in the moment with those who were with me, and photography came second. You can see all the progression and Baily’s Beads are visible in the last moments, just before totality. (in the middle, next to the corona) 🇫🇷 Le Soleil d’hier en H-alpha (Hα). ISRO has launched India's ambitious solar mission, Aditya-L1, following the recent success of Chandrayan 3 lunar expedition. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), standing at 44.4 meters tall, majestically took off at 11:50 am from the Eastern coast's spaceport, located around 135 km from Chennai, as the 23:40-hour countdown concluded. Aditya-L1 is India's first space-based observatory designed to study the Sun. After traveling approximately 1.5 million km from Earth over 125 days, it will be positioned in a Halo orbit around Lagrangian point L1, the point closest to the Sun. The spacecraft will capture images of the Sun for scientific research. Scientists identify five Lagrangian points in space where objects can stay with minimal fuel consumption. ISRO's Aditya-L1, the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun will be launched from Sriharikota space station in Andhra Pradesh. The satellite will be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point L1 of the Sun-Earth system which is about 1.5 million kms from the Earth. It will take around four months to reach the Lagrange point. The advantage of a halo orbit around the L1 point is that the satellite can observe the solar activities without any obstruction by other celestial activities like eclipse. The Aditya L1 mission is to study the solar winds and the Sun’s atmosphere. It will carry seven payloads to observe the photosphere, chromosphere, and the outermost layers of the Sun namely the corona. I'm very pleased with the outcome, especially considering the modest budget of around CAD 500 (USD 380). 🇬🇧Today, I observed the sun in Calcium-K. This observation has been long-awaited. I haven't been able to capture any images since May due to factors such as wildfire smoke, bad weather, and so on. There's a lot for me to learn about the CaK spectrum, and the primary filter didn't fit as expected. I'll need to do some CAD work and 3D print an adapter for it. Nevertheless, I'm thrilled about my first result. 🇫🇷Aujourd'hui, j'ai observé le soleil en Calcium-K. Cela fait longtemps que j'attendais cette occasion. Depuis mai, je n'ai pas pu capturer d'images en raison de la fumée des feux de forêt, du mauvais temps, etc. J'ai encore beaucoup à apprendre sur le spectre CaK, et le filtre principal ne s'adaptait pas comme prévu. 💪🌞💪 Dwa masywne obszary aktywne, które obserwowaliśmy na żywo - AR 3363 i AR 3372. Zdjęcia poniżej zrobiłem właśnie wtedy. Ten pierwszy zrobił ostatnio dużo zamieszania w światku amatorskich obserwacji Słońca. Generuje sporo rozbłysków i ma potężne plamy. 🤩 AR 3372 jest nowym "graczem" na tarczy Słońca. On też robi duże wrażenie i będziemy go mogli podziwiać jeszcze przez około tydzień. Since I use Baader's Solar Continuum Filter 7.5 nm (540nm), I wanted to reproduce the color of the 540nm spectrum. My inspiration came from Kyu-Seob KIM, aka @solarphotographer. ☀️ W dniu 18 maja miałem piękny i słoneczny dzień. Tym Słońcem podzieliłem się z Wami pokazując je przez teleskop słoneczny na transmisji. 🤩 Udało nam się zrobić kilka fajnych kadrów, które widzicie poniżej. Na pierwszym zdjęciu widoczne, są obszary aktywne AR 3301, 3302, 3305 i 3308 (niestety już niewidoczne z naszej strony). Poza tym największa (w tamtym dniu) protuberancja widoczna przy krawędzi tarczy Słońca. 👉 Drugie zdjęcie to zbliżenie tych obszarów, a na trzeciej astrofotografii zbliżenie samej protuberancji. 🇬🇧 Yesterday's Sun in H-alpha (Hα). There was a lot of turbulence at high altitudes, but I managed to get some nice captures. The active region 3310 produced an M-class flare that I was able to capture. You can see it in the lower left corner. In the inverted image, you can see some nice filaments on the surface. 🇫🇷 Le Soleil d'hier en H-alpha (Hα). 🇬🇧 Today's Sun in H-alpha (Hα). Here is a capture of a beautiful M-class flare in the active region 3312. It was very impressive to see the flare evolve in real time. The quality is fair, as there was a lot of turbulence. We can also see the 3310 region which is huge. 🇫🇷 Le Soleil d'aujourd'hui en H-alpha (Hα).
