The claypot 龍躉 fish at SZ Kitchen could well be the most delicious fish we had. Cooked with their signature 龍躉 king grouper, the collagen-like soup was so flavourful and tasty the boss confidently assured that he won’t charge if it wasn’t good. Needless to say, we happily paid for it. He would customise the parts of the fish according to what we liked. Ours had a good mix of meat, fish head parts and yummy fish jellies. Even the garlic and leek in the pot were great to enjoy simply with rice. Their Gong Gongs were poached in sea water which brought out the sweetness in the meat that was so soft and bouncy. We loved that the doneness was on point and meat was partially pulled out from the shell which made eating so easy and enjoyable. With just two dishes, our lunch was so satisfying and we would return for more of their fish that tasted fresh and cooked on point.

Throwback Aug #lunch: Think my dad is a big fan, coz we’ve been to every one of their 3 outlets! 😂 This one is located at Arena Country Club & serves #tzechar dishes other than e usual sliced fish soup & fried chicken.. Impressive display of puffer fish on e wall! 🐡 My dad ordered a giant grouper aka 龙趸 (lóng dǔn) for our Claypot fish.. Frankly speaking, I can’t really appreciate e chewy skin (collagen?) & kinda-tough meat, but e sauce was nice with traces of yam..
