Chanced upon My Korean Mom's Kimchi food shop in Newest Mall. Saw a cute little Korean ahjumma tending to customers so decided to give it a try. Ordered the mega Beef Bulgogi Gimbap ($12) and it came with a small Kimchi side dish. The gimbap was tasty and very filling. What I liked most was actually the kimchi! Very homemade taste. They do sell the kimchi and some other banchan as well. I've been seeing this on my #foodpanda app for awhile and decided to order a junior sized piece. So, here's a quick take on the food from Byrons Backribs Dumaguete. The rice is a bit bland and seems super dry for a java rice. The beef was super tender and while this was junior size, I feel that it is almost the same size for their student size order and not worth the additional P 200 from the app. What's your take on this known food? Mine's 3/5 due to it's size and cost.

📍Tanjong Pagar . [Invited Tasting] - @sumobarhappy does some really affordable rice bowls: take the Salmon and Hotate Ikura Don (~$18.90) for example. This price in this economy??? Unheard of. The salmon cubes aren’t as well cut as more pricey restos, but their hotate sure is juicy. 🍚🍚 - Their saucy Unagi Tamago Soba (~$14.40) came drenched in a tangy terriyaki sauce coating the springy cold soba. Unagi wise, it was plump, not quite grilled, but portion wise really generous so I can’t complain. 🍜🍜 - Mentaiko Maki (~$12.90) was loaded with Japanese rice — carb heavy, topped with a lightly torched thicc aburied salmon slice. A decent sharing plate! 🍣🍣 🌿 We also had the 🌸Apple Potato Salad 🌸Salmon Sashimi (could be fresher) 🌸Aburi Salmon Pasta (tangy!) 🌸 Tako Wasabi (strong wasabi flavours) 🌸 Strawberry Mochi Thank you @sumobarhappy for having us ☺️
