TAIPEI NIGHT MARKET 🥓🦪🍡 Ningxia night market has ALL the vibes. From instagrammable sweet desserts, to fresh fruit drinks, to michelin starred pancakes, this street has it all, but I came specifically for these bib gourmand glutinous savoury oyster pancakes. They were so fragrant and umami with a slight hint of sweetness and kick of pepper, it was like a warming touch to the soul. I also had to go try the crowd favourite 控肉饭, and it proved rightly so. The stickiness of the fat and collagen from the pork infused with the slight sweetness of the bamboo shoots piled up on rice, I just couldn’t resist. I also got a papaya milk — no explanation necessary because it’s a necessity — as well as a fun taro peanut ice cream roll dessert that looked intriguing to the eyes, but tbh couldve passed on it. Of course after that slightly dissapointing desssert, I had to get an icy treat to finish the night off. I went to a nearby 糖水 shop and just told them to give me their favourite, which ended up being shaved ice, tofu pudding, peanuts, taro and yam balls, and a sweet liquid to meld everything together. IM SO FULL🤰
