And in honour of this very special occasion, Parc Astérix has a great programme packed with new experiences: a new attraction ‘La Tour de Numérobis’, a new musical ‘Cèst un Delire’, the new float based on the “Asterix in Spain” comic book at the ‘Gaulish Parade’ and the return of the unique immersive experience in the heart of the Village Gaulois with the ‘Gallic Banquet’! ~Hansel and Gretel~ Start of major maintenance of the fairy tale Hans & Gretel April 3, 2024 The fairy tale scene from 1955 needs major maintenance. Project leader Mark Elings explains what will happen in the Fairytale Forest. “The candy house from the fairy tale Hans & Gretel was built in the mid-1950s with wooden posts and stone mesh. Unfortunately, that doesn't last a lifetime. In the years that followed, regular maintenance was therefore carried out. For example, the supporting structure of the house has already been replaced and in 2016 we renovated the cubicle where Hans sits. We hoped that during the upcoming major maintenance at Hans & Grietje we would only have to maintain the outer, original layer of the house, but unfortunately the house is in too poor a condition and we have to replace it completely.” Reconstruction planning Mark: “A 3D scan has already been made of the house and the surrounding area. This 3D scan will soon make it possible to restore an almost identical house. We now know with millimeter precision where which candy is located. From having Doc brown in front of the clock tower to new Dinos, a prop stop where YOU can hop off the tram and snap some pics & much more!! ….. The trains for Hyperia, Thorpe Park’s new Mack Rides HyperCoaster, have just been released. Here’s my honest initial thoughts: Firstly, the reveal video is a thing of beauty by itself so massive well done to @thorpeparkofficial and @j_silkstone . We have known for a while now that the ride would have lap bars and this is only going to elevate the experience (riding some of these elements that are looking to be, in my opinion, world class with just a lap bar is something I can’t quite believe we are getting in the UK). The design as a whole looks so slick and I love the wings detailing but from the beginning of this project I’ve been slightly reserved about the gold colour (however this may just be because of the lighting I’ve seen it in and the closest I’ve been to seeing it in real life has been from Monk’s Walk). At a first glance, it doesn’t look like there is much of a lighting package on the trains and apparently the park confirmed a little while ago there wouldn’t be on-board audio but instead speakers playing for when you ascend the lift hill. With how great the soundtrack is, I wish there was on-board audio and also lighting but these may not be present due to budgeting issues rather than creative choices and it’s not to say it isn’t something the park will look to add in later years. In conclusion, I think they are fantastic and the trains being revealed has made me even more excited to see the ride testing and opening. Mystery castle in Phantasialand. Yesterday I went to Phantasialand for the first time and I am gonna be honest with you all, as far as it is an amazing park it's not for those who aren't trillseekers. Most of the rides are roller coasters or other things like the mystery castle that is a 65 meter drop tower, which even tho I am not a really big scary ride person I did enjoy it. Same goes for the few coaster I went in to, sadly my stomach wasn't a fan and now I know why I barely go into coasters these days. Other then that it is an expensive park, tickets are 57 euros and food varies between 8 to 30 euros depending on what you get. Would I go back? No not really and that is more because of me getting sick in most rides which is a me thing and not necessarily the rides itself. Theme parks having always been my happy place. 🩵 My parents started taking me to Canadas Wonderland the first year it opened and it was our big annual trip, I was one! (Scroll through the photos to a super throw back! lol) I’m guessing that is where my love first started and we have continued this tradition with my kids. Our first family of five trip was to Canadas Wonderland. Then Disney, Universal, and Hersheypark followed. As my kids are entering their teen years visiting theme parks has become tradition. We incorporate visits into most of our trips. Last year we visited France and had to include Disneyland Paris. I never thought my love of all things theme parks would lead me to creating the blog and helping people on the internet plan awesome theme park trips. We decided yesterday was too beautiful to stay indoors so we headed to @legolandflorida for the first time together. It was also Wes’s first time visiting the park. We only had about 4 hours to roam the park but enjoyed every moment! From the crowd interactions with the LEGO Vlogger Tourist to Granny’s Apple Fries to riding a few rides we took advantage of every minuet we had at the park! The one thing we learned about Legoland is there is something for everyone to do. Yes, it is more kid focused BUT we were still able to enjoy a few rides and enjoy the scenery walking around. All of the rides are designed for adults to go on them but mostly if you have little ones, so you can ride together. Fun fact: Legoland is where the historic Cypress Gardens used to be. They still even do a ski show at Legoland and left the Gardens to walk around in! Vlog will be out soon about our quick 4 hour experience at Legoland!
