A wet November took me to Alton Towers, a place I had never been. The Diabetes UK Midlands & East of. England Team took some young people with Diabetes to this amazing Theme Park. They said I could go on the rides once we were done with the photography for the day too. Sadly, this isn't my thing I can't do rides without feeling sick for hours so I kept it strictly business. As this photo shows... It's such a nice team to work with. I've done a couple of jobs with them whilst they worked with young leaders, it's important work they do supporting young people with this awful disease. Having approachable people like these gives young people someone to talk to and they introduce them to others their own age living with it too. Nearly two weeks later and I was back at Alton Towers (@altontowers) , similar to my other April trip it was a morning at work and then it was a PM on park, ultimately for the Wicker Man track walk! Unlike the Oblivion one, the weather was wonderful and you don’t need a safety harness to do the walk! Out of the two I’d say that Wicker Man’s is the more personal but Oblivion’s is more of an experience. You do get to see more of the park from Wicker Man though, because of where it’s located. Wicker Man’s is cheaper and you get to play around with Big Bob’s fire effects. There’s still a couple of niggles like not able to take your camera up that has a neck strap like mine does, as your phone goes in a pouch which has a neck strap that you have to wear around your neck to ascend but it’s just one of those things. It’s very exciting to hear that planning permission has finally been approved by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for Project Ocean at @altontowers! Interestingly though, a noise assessment conducted in support of the proposal highlights that measurements have been gauged based on a similar Top Spin style attraction within the Merlin chain. This all but confirms that a spiritual successor to Ripsaw will be on its way to Forbidden Valley soon! 🇬🇧 ALTON TOWERS - Abril de 2024 Ya de vuelta de nuestra ruta por United Kingdom. Hoy os hablaremos de un señor parque, muy singular, bonito y creepy a la vez. Parque que nos demuestra que no todo es tener atracciones altas, ya que está en un entorno natural en el que no pueden superar la altura de los árboles. Tiene un gran lago, un castillo en ruinas y unos jardines dónde perderte paseando durante horas. Áreas temáticas aunque con alguna atracción sin mucho sentido, muy logradas. Tenemos una buena alineación de montañas rusas, con un total de 10 , muchas a destacar pero sin ninguna que te acabe de volar la cabeza (fotos a continuación). Estuvimos dos días y el primero comimos en el Rollercoaster Restaurant: Un restaurante donde la comida llega por raíles, después de hacer un looping. La verdad es que pensábamos que sería más caro y tienen varias opciones veganas. Del parking a la entrada del parque hay un buen camino (unos 15 minutos caminando) pero el parque ofrece un servicio de monorraíl gratuito para hacer este trayecto. De todas maneras no te vas a librar de caminar. It was brilliant to get back to @altontowers and do Nemesis again, so well themed and very well smoothed experience to what it was before. The queueline is well cool with extra elements on to make things immersive as you walk into the station. The station is totally insane with detail of bones, lights and sounds of Nemesis heartbeat and it was another level.
