๐ฟ Anthurium Luxurians โข โข โข First official and really exciting update on my very first import ๐ฅฐ I received this plant in the middle of February, and it was sooo floppy from the transportation and stress that it really got me worried. I got it under one of my glass domes and right under the grow lights. In a couple of weeks, the leaves got pretty firm again, and I started removing the dome little by little. Right now, it seems that the plant adjusted to grpeing in the ambient conditions ๐ฅณ๐ฅน The only thing I'm not so happy about is that the grow lights are above the plant, which makes the leaves turn towards it . ๐ฑ๐ธ Phalaenopsis Lianher Cranberry 'Cha-Cha' โข โข โข Although I don't care much about the naming of the plant but if I enjoy the plant overall, sometimes my brain can't settle down from the uncertainty if the plant doesnt have a tag๐ I love when everything is in order and I just feel some kind of incompleteness when the plant (especially orchid) is lacking the tag. It is really upsetting when in some stores (even plant shops), they have something like 'tropical plant', 'orchid', and 'houseplant' on the naming tag. I feel very lucky that I ended up finding the ID of this one since I didn't have any clues to it. Me imagino que hay muchos preguntรกndose โยฟCuanto tardara mi Monstera Variegada en crecer para ponerse grande?โ Bueno, debido a esta curiosa y ansiosa pregunta, me complace compartir el proceso que a llevado mi Monstera Variegada en un perรญodo de un aรฑo y diez meses crecer para ponerse asรญ de grande como se puede ver en la รบltima imagen. Llegรณ asรญ de chica, cรณmo se puede observar en las primeras imรกgenes en Mayo del 2022 dando aproximadamente 3 hojas por temporada cรกlida (primavera-verano) ya que en los meses mas frรญos se estancan y no tiran hojitas. Hasta hoy febrero 2024 su hoja mas grande esta midiendo 32x26 cms y cada una que va sacando es mas grande que la anterior. Esto gracias al tutor que se le puso para que trepe y agarre mas fuerza con sus raรญces aรฉreas, emulando su crecimiento real en la naturaleza. ๐ฟ๐ข Labisia sp. Turtle Back โข โข โข Such a unique and absolutely stunning foliage. This is a relatively new plant in my collection, so I don't have much to say about its care. As of now, I am just trying to keep it in high humidity since this is considered a terrarium plant. I don't have any sort of enclosure, but since this plant is very small, I was able to put it under one of my glass domes.๐๐ซก I think that the glass dome should work perfectly in this case because it keeps humidity as well as works as a really cute display for this plant... Philodendron Gigas โข โข โข My main highlight of this year is โจ๏ธMOSS POLESโจ๏ธ I've learned a lot this year about plants and care, and moss pole is one of these things. I never grew a climbing plant before, so this moss pole is the very first one that I've made. Unfortunately, it didn't work out right away as I thought it would. The plant started sizing up, but there weren't any roots growing in moss, and I started noticing that the moss pole was not quite 'compatible' to the soil I used. So basically the soil didn't dry out fast enough as the moss pole did, so either I had to wait for the soil to dry out, so I could shower the plant (and moss pole stayed dry for quite some time) or I could water the moss pole more frequently (which would give me a root rot). I didn't want to stress out my plant too much with repotting, but this was the only way to fix it ๐ญ Also, this plant didn't want to unfurl its leaves properly, and they were getting stuck or were damaged while unfurling. The best leaf that I got from it was the one I helped to get out on time (so it didn't deform) and the one that got put under the humidifier which was kerping humidity at 90% constantly. I think that was my best decision to repot in a super chunky mix and wrap the moss pole with plastic wrap so that it holds water for a little longer. Now, the soil and the moss pole are drying at the same time, which gives me an opportunity to completely shower the plant. The leaves and the roots look much better now AND! Anthurium Besseae x Crystallinum โข โข โข Can't even describe how obsessed I am with this anthurium. I got this one on September plant expo from @cwttttia and it is soooo pretty. There are actually two plants, and over these months, both of them grew a leaf. This was my very first anthurium seedling that I got, and I was a bit anxious about it and the challenges that I might face with the plant so little. But I think I did pretty well, and it was the right decision to put it in the glass dome. I don't have any kind of tent or greenhouse cabinet, so for me, it was the only option to be able to keep the humidity high enough. It grew so many roots that I had to up-pot it recently. Hoya Carnosa 'Krinkle 8' โข โข โข Look at these little hairies๐ฅด๐ตโ๐ซ I am a desperate leaf toucher and I can't hold back the urge to touch a cute leaf or two... Epipremnum Aureum 'Marble Queen' aka Marble Queen Pothos โข โข โข When I got this plant, I thought that it would work the same way, my alocasia frydek does. No green = no chlorophyll = no photosynthesis = more light - the better to sustain the leaves, and I had a perfect spot for it right near my west-facing windows. BUT! It didn't go as planned (as always ๐ซ ), and it started sprouting yellowish leaves and keeping them yellow. Right now, I'm trying to find a perfect place, so it's not too bright, but not too dark as well... Philodendron Gigas A little storytime of how I destroyed the most beautiful and perfect leaf I ever had on this plant ๐ฅฒ LITERALLY this morning, I was sitting in front of this plant admiring this exact leaf together with the very new one that this plant is unfurling. And you may ask, hmmmm...what could've happened? I.VACUUMED.IT.โ ๏ธ๐ญ๐ญ This plant stands on the floor, and today, I was too lazy to move it from its spot. I removed the standard flat brush attachment..you know...to kinda vacuum everything around the plant, and for a tiny little second, I stopped paying attention to what the hell I was doing.
