I have not made it to a bluebell wood just yet as I had quite a busy week full of big decisions which will hopefully lead to new adventures and projects. With a desire to wholly pursue my love of plants, focussing on botanical photography; something had to give. Not only is 2025 is a big birthday year for me but it will be my last year of photographing weddings. Ipomoea arborescens - 'Tree morning glory' These large, fast growing trees have been living rent free in my mind for years, and I've finally found out what they are! All other members of the Ipomoea genus that I've encountered up until now were vines or shrubs. This stunning species is indigenous to Mexico, I'm assuming it was brought to South Africa as an attractive ornamental. Here is a collection of 3 pictures that are not related in any way, opposed to what I have been showing you up until now. Pic 1: I don’t really remember the year this picture was taken, but it was obviously winter. The composition is a little bit off due to the fact that the subject is weirdly placed on the far bottom of the picture, and it is also cropped. Despite that, I still like the picture because of the eerie vibe of the fog in the background and the way the car and the roof of the house give color to this otherwise really white scene. Pic 2: These picture was taken in Vienna, in the same day the pictures in my other post were taken, but I decided to exclude it from that post because I find it has a different feel. It has more modern elements and the color palette is also different. What I enjoy about it is again the pops of red in the sign and the trash can, contrasting well to the tealish, blueish undertone of the street. Pic 3: This is my cat Millie 🥰. I think you are going to see more pictures of her. Obviously she is the main character of this picture, but I would say that the main theme is “home”. I like how the curtain splits the picture in two halves, and also the geometric look the wall with the plants gives to the composition. 🪴 peace lily domino sans drama of course lol I love peace lilies because they are as intuitive as it gets when it comes to plants and by that I mean, it’s very easy to understand her. she deflates, she needs water. you give her water, she’s fine. lol there is no guessing when it comes to peace lilies, it’s obvious when they require attention. in fact, I left it deflate for a day or two before I water it. just don’t forget to fertilize! lol when we were newbie plant parents we had a peace lily for like a year that got massive then suddenly died. we couldn’t figure out why but now I know it’s because we never fertilized it and since we never repotted it in that time it also didn’t get nutrients from the soil. lesson learned lol swipe all the way to the end to see this baby when I got it in January of 2022. she’s come a long way!
