It is difficult to imagine the hardships and heartbreak felt but families across Donegal at this small, stone bridge in the shadow of Muckish Mountain. This bridge, known as Droichead na nDeor, or "The Bridge of Tears", was once the place where families in the 19th century would say their final goodbyes to their loved ones before they followed the road to the Port of Derry, the main departure point for Donegal emigrants. Families would talk to this bridge with the finality of a funeral, as often it was the last time they would see their family members, never to return to their homeland. Opening Soon: HNAHS HAUS After much consideration, we have decided to rebrand our heritage centre into a much needed amenity for the community - a nightclub. HNAHS HAUS will be the hottest new spot in town with unique offerings such as a Late Night Café and Tour, four dancefloors, monthly teeny-bopper discos and the world famous DJ Slowee performing eight nights a week.
