La caja de platino de 41 mm, es de estilo Officier y evoca una de las creaciones más preciadas de Philippe Stern: la serie limitada referencia 3960, lanzada en 1989 en el marco del 150 aniversario de la manufactura. In 2007 Perini Navi together with yacht designer Philippe Briand took the plunge to start building motor yachts at their La Spezia facility, the old Picchiotti yard. The project was named Vitruvius. Only three yachts were launched : the 50m Exuma (today Falco Moscato) for Eric Wittouck, the 55m Galileo G for Silvio Scaglia and this one, the 73m Grace E for Robert Stiller. The construction of the hull and superstructure of Grace E, initially known as project C1289 started in March 2010 at Perini Navi’s Yildiz yard in Turkey and in the spring of 2012 she was transported for outfitting to La Spezia where her impressive Rémi Tessier interior was installed. I had a passionate discussion with some buddies this weekend and I personally think the #5236 #perpetualcalendar is one of the best #watches to have come out of the #patek manufacture in recent times. There was talk about how the date comprises 2 separate wheels and that the “gap” in-between is distracting — I for one think that it was a pretty ingenious way to present day, date, and month in a single line while maintaining symmetry. The “gap” doesn’t bother me personally. Paired here with an @alexcrownlive #watchstrap that also has a brushed appearance, which beautifully mimics the blue brushed dial.
