😂🫠🤑💸. I promised myself I’d share straight from my immediate thoughts and process; that I wouldn’t curate some style of visual consistency. I’d stick with the garage sale theme and pour all this junk out of my unconscious mind on a virtual table and sell it for 50 cents (read: free— everything must go). This is the thing I love about AI rendered digital art. I woke up this morning from a dream. It was mixed with a lucid dream kind of contemplation about how the world is effed up by pseudo adults (read: tall children) running amok with monopolies, money obsessions and dissociation from humanity as if society were a children’s board game. “I WIN. I’M THE BEST. I HAVE THE MOST!” From this dream, an image of children playing a popular finance board game as if it were Baroque Vegas melted into my waking mind— I knew I had to see it in AI form… I love AI for this. You can immediately get it out of your head into visual form, but it has it’s own process— just like any other medium. I’ve worked in photo darkrooms; I have painted; and I make ceramics. I’m well versed in all art forms. This process doesn’t feel creatively any different to me when I precisely try to hone in on my own idea and vision. If I can’t deal with the process qualities that AI brings, then just like painting, it gets frustrating. AI brought its own character to this idea. For clarity, I did not specify ethnicity, race or gender of the characters. #Midjourney chose the “models” and I’m leaving it as is— for the sake of AI anthropology-social study. I chose the less realistic ‘AI weird factor’ mutations because I think that’s one of the most interesting characteristics of AI as an art medium. Also, in this case, with “children” being represented, I thought it was best to not have it feel too real. No photo edits on this.
