After spending the other day near the central part of Cross Charlotte Trail (Little Sugar Creek Greenway), I spent yesterday on its northern end via Toby Creek Greenway. And, to be more specific, I walked the section of Toby Creek Greenway south of Highway 49 for the first time in almost three years (crazy I know)! 😳 I was very curious to see if there were any changes along this section since my last visit. As I began along Toby Creek Greenway yesterday, it felt more like summer than spring with temps close to 90°. Prior to meeting with friends at a new restaurant in Charlotte's University City tonight, I spent the afternoon along the nearby Toby Creek Greenway. The last time I walked this part of the greenway pictured here, Toby Creek was undergoing a stream restoration via Charlotte Water. All of the trees that had been here were all mowed down. All you could see was bare grass and Toby Creek itself. The Whiteway and Lillian are still Closed. We have not had a significant amount of cold weather to refreeze the ice. The ice is being chewed up by people attempting to skate the false ice surface.
