If there is trouble, I’m as good as dead.” - Henri Toivonen, Corsica 1986. Toivonen, driving a Lancia Delta S4, died in a crash on 2 May 1986 while leading the Tour de Corse rally. His American co-driver, Sergio Cresto, also perished when the Lancia plunged down a ravine and exploded. The fatal crash occurred without any close witnesses, and the only remnants of the car were the blackened spaceframe, rendering it impossible to determine the cause of the crash. Montecarlo 1986: Il bluff di Fiorio Ogni categoria automobilistica ha la sua gara più importante, quella che ogni bambino sogna di vincere più di ogni altra. Per la Formula Uno si tratta di Montecarlo, per le Indycar di Indianapolis, per le Nascar di Daytona e per il rally si tratta nuovamente di Montecarlo. Ed è proprio del rally di Montecarlo che si parlerà oggi. Nel 1986, ultimo anno del leggendario gruppo B, a Montecarlo stava per avere inizio una delle stagioni più belle di tutti i tempi. Le case costruttrici maggiormente indiziate alla vittoria erano Audi, Peugeot e Lancia. Era la notte del 23 gennaio 1986 e stava per avere inizio la tappa più insidiosa, quella del Col de Turini: 25 km di tornanti e di ghiaccio. La scelta delle gomme era fondamentale. Quella notte, la Lancia doveva recuperare un importante gap da Peugeot e serviva quindi una magia per tornare in lotta per la vittoria. Come ogni team che si rispetti, la Lancia poteva contare su un team manager che definire geniale è riduttivo. Il suo nome è Cesare Fiorio, ed è proprio in questa occasione che il manager pugliese tirerà fuori una delle sue imprese più famose. Innanzitutto ordina ai suoi meccanici di montare sulla vettura delle lampadine gialle, come solo Peugeot era solita fare. Così facendo, i tifosi francesi, credendo di vedere la Peugeot in arrivo, non avrebbero lanciato neve fresca lungo il tracciato per penalizzare la Lancia. Dopodiché ordinò ai suoi uomini più fidati di andare a controllare la situazione della neve lungo il tracciato. In caso di ghiaccio, infatti, sarebbe stato necessario fare uso di gomme chiodate. Vittorio Caneva, fondamentale uomo della Lancia, nato e cresciuto in montagna, andò a fare la sua ricognizione e riferì a Fiorio, sicuro di sé, che la neve non si sarebbe ghiacciata. Il manager comanda però ai suoi uomini, via radio, l'installazione di gomme chiodate. È qualcosa che spiazza tutti, soprattutto Caneva, il quale si sentì tradito. Parte quindi lo stage. sweden euro 2020 goalkeeper kit with olsen printing sweden’s euro 2020 goalkeeper kit is based on the adidas grey and green condivo 20 template. nothing too fancy. behind the kit is sweden’s number one, robin olsen. i first knew about olsen after i saw his fantastic performances for sweden at the 2018 world cup, and i was very excited when roma signed him to replace the outgoing alisson becker. i thought his experience would help to solidify roma’s position, but i was unfortunately quite wrong. olsen showed himself to the world during his time in malmo, where his performances earned him a move to copenhagen. he spent 3 arguably mistake free seasons in the danish superliga and topped off with an impressive world cup campaign, which saw sweden going to the quarter finals, narrowly losing out to england. as a result, this earned him a summer move to italian club roma, where the team hoped that they could finally find their replacement for the outgoing alisson becker. after some awful performances, olsen was eventually replaced by veteran antonio mirante by then roma manager claudio ranieri towards the end of the season. roma were pretty frustrated by him, so they sent him out on loan to various clubs, such as everton, sheffield united, hoping that he will somehow break into their teams and they can offload him. olsen is currently benchwarming at aston villa, playing second fiddle to arguably one of the best keepers in the world at the moment, emiliano martinez. there is absolutely no shame in doing so, considering how he’s 33 already. he’s also such a nice chap that i already feel bad criticising him. jersey rating: 6/10

RALLY TOUR DE CORSE 2 Maggio 1985 sulla P.s. con partenza da Zirubia,Attilio Bettega a bordo della sua Lancia 037,perde la vita a seguito di una perdita di aderenza dopo una curva schiantandosi oltre i 160/170 kmh contro un albero piegando in due l'abitacolo. il Navigatore Maurizio Perissinot si salvò da quell incidente. 2 Maggio 1986 Esattamente un anno dopo la perdita di Bettega, sulla P.s con Partenza da Corté,Henri Toivonen e Sergio Cresto a bordo della loro Lancia Delta S4 qualche Km dopo lo Start lungo la discesa del Col d'Ominanda, escono di strada finendo giù in un burrone. L'auto al momento dell'impatto va in fiamme.. Entrambi perserò la vita. Da quel momento, la FIA decise di mettere al bando la corsa alle prestazioni delle macchine di Gruppo B e di ritornare alle competizioni con auto derivate in gran parte dalla produzione in serie. Inutile spiegare l'emozione nel percorrere quelle strade e chiedersi come abbiano potuto raggiungere velocità così alti in tratti montani così stretti e dissestati.. 30 anni fa mancava un pó di sicurezza ma la tecnologia di quei mezzi era avanzatissima. Da questa vacanza porteró a casa tanti bei ricordi e tra questi,porteró nel cuore queste due giornate passate a visitare questi due omaggi di questi grandi piloti che sono passati nella storia dei rally.
