Did you know that by the end of the lake is always windy? And that is the perfect place for surf lovers? In fact - windsurfing and kitesurfing, up to everyone’s liking. Or if you are in search for a less crowded place for hiking, you can take a look at Gravedona as well, there is also a beach - water there is not that deep, so is suitable also for children.

If you find yourself close to Colico, we recommend to visit Abbey of Piona. It is particularly beautiful in this time of year, while hydrangeas are in full bloom. The photos doesn’t do it justice, but we tried! Its church’s rectangular nave will give you a feeling like you have stepped in a different century, or perhaps, a movie you’ve seen. It’s 06:00PM somewhere in the world. Or 05:00PM. But what it means here, at Lake Como (and well, in all Italy, frankly speaking) - is an aperitivo time 😌 Happy hour, you would think. But here it is more than that - is a cultural thing. It basically contains a drink of your choice, is not obligatory alcoholic even (plenty of non-alcoholic choices) and snacks/finger food. Usually accompanied by a great lake view. Beautiful view over Como 😌 What to do in case of the rain by the lake? Book a meal in some nice local restaurant. Or book a private cooking class. Up to your liking! Overall there is always a refreshing drink around the corner - may it be a spritz or kombucha or even just a seltzer… and aperitivo can begin 😉

Life is a journey, not a destination… but lake Como is definitely a destination. And what a destination! Still though is not always easy to find even a restaurant or information how to get around the lake. Sometimes you simply need a bit of help here and there. The season has started and rather in a rush! ⛴️ The most common transport on the lake to get around, are, of course, boats. Public or private, up to the choice of each individual. Yet there are few things about public boats every lake Como visitor should bear in mind: - You can purchase online only slow boats tickets (corse battello) - For online purchased tickets there is no foreseen embark priority - The fast service (corse rapide) and vehicle transportation tickets are available for purchasing only at ticket office close to the dock - It is suggested to arrive at least 20-25 min from departure time, especially if you need yet to purchase the tickets Hope this helps! 😌 And if anyone is in need of personal advice and back up with anything, our service is always available!

A view from the Greenway path, a lovely place for an easy hike, it stretches along several towns, starts in Colonno, ends in Griante, for 10 km (6 miles). You can walk all the way or just a part of it and stop in the middle for a refreshing drink or snack (beloved aperitivo 😍), you can even option to walk till the end and come back by boat. Just remember to put on comfy shoes and outfit 😉😉 Enjoy!
