While all is quiet on the hunting front we are by no means sat on our laurels. Last season taught us a lot, especially that the scummy hunters will stop at nothing to get away with their murderous acts (please see our previous hit reports). So at the minute we are busy booking and attending training sessions in all areas that will benefit both us as a team and the wildlife we will be saving next season. We are also meeting and training new sabs so they hit the ground running (so to speak lol) come cubbing in the autumn. The hunt gathered at the bottom of Sidbury Hill and as the trail layer made another appearance, they went off in different directions. Heading back towards the kennels with the light fading they cast a few times through Ablington Furze down to Dumbbell Copse casting one more time. The hunt staff and field were not happy and decided that a single sab was to be harassed by some of the field, with a rider hitting him with her whip another rider getting off his horse, getting in his face and threatening him. The sab remained calm while he was paying attention to some hounds who had come to him all while another rider was screaming harassment. We are unsure of their interpretation of harassment as the single sab was totally surrounded by riders at this point. They finally moved on back to the meet packing up at 6pm and were watched all the way back to kennels. We saw and saved at least 2 foxes at close range to hounds, with no attempt from staff to call hounds off. The RA were blatantly hunting today, more so than usual. Sabs and monitors worked hard to protect lives. This was our toughest sab of the season by far! Thank you to all the kind words we received from dog walkers and servicemen we bumped into today. Saturday 9th March The Dover, Angmering Park. The Crawley & Horsham closing meet, hardly anything to write about. A very low key day for an end of season meet. This hunt have been undergoing some training in 'smokescreen' 'fake trail laying' from the master of trail hunt lies, Richard Gurney MFHA, since 2021. A very small field for a closing meet, and they were only out for a couple of hours, with our eyes and camera's keeping close watch on them. Around 3pm they headed back to the meet and we watched as the hounds were safely loaded in the lorry for the journey home. The men were digging for around two hours whilst the terrier was latched on to the fox underground. Once reached, the fox was thrown out in front of sabs whose intervention ensured it escaped. The poor terrier was bleeding so much the terrier man's jackets was soaked with it's blood. More details to follow. They also hold the Port Eliot Festival and the masters are trying to keep this meet quiet to avoid the “unwanted” turning up! We found ourselves with more sabs than seats, so a couple of us joined up with @Sheffield to visit the Grove & Rufford whilst the rest headed over to Spridlington to gatecrash the Burton's final Saturday meet. We sent one foot team in & they soon found Neil, Jack & the hounds at West Firsby plantation, moving to Firsby Gorse, through the Medieval Village before heading towards Hackthorn drawing all the coverts. They continued south drawing Fox covert and Brick kiln plantation, before second horseing at South Farm at 1 o'clock. Then heading north-east towards Cold Hanworth where a team watched as a fox broke & was pursued by the hounds in full cry, with Neil encouraging the hounds on. Sabs caught up with the hounds desecrating a badger sett, where we assume the fox had taken refuge. After we rated the hounds our friends from Sheff arrived just in time! Alerted by whooping & hollering of support, a beautiful brace broke across the road near South farm. Luckily our second team leaped out & ran to cover their scent as Neil encouraged the hounds. At this point support were wetting their pants at the excitement of a potential kill. With Sheff sabs guarding the sett, the hunt continued looping back. We then saw a fox break right in front of the hunt, but our team were well positioned to get in between & mask the line. Sadly we lost him between Spridlington Hall & the oil well. Each vehicle did laps of the area & no support vehicles or riders were anywhere to be seen. One of Sheff could see a hunt horsebox around the medieval village, which is where we believe they packed at quarter to five. Despite the provocation & aggression we have endured this season, we have persevered! 02/03/24 RA foxhounds, Highlands Cottages, West Lavington, Salisbury Plain. The RA didn't move off from the meet till 12 o'clock with a paltry 15 riders, including 3 young children in the potentially, treacherous, and dangerously slippery and wet conditions with some snow still settled on the ground. We were joined by our good friends @surreyhuntsabs @readinghuntsab and our highly efficient monitors. The RA seem to have recruited James Harris on the basis that: "If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes truth" Not an auspicious quote, but clear in his fantastical mind, he follows sabs around all day "engaging in conversation”, whether we engage or not, a constant stream of unconscionableness spews forth.... We were told about how they lay the trail.... She, Sam Bialek, has a whip that has a rag soaked in fox urine which she drags behind her. When pointed out she is not doing that, we were told that as she had been doing it so long the hounds now follow her smell. Honestly! When pointed out the hounds were nowhere near where she had been, we were told they use two trail layers. This has never been seen! When the hounds were in front of the trail layer, we were told they also have a map of where the trail will be laid. We are yet to see any of the hounds reading a map, but we thought we saw an older hound in reading glasses! Not a grain of truth, not that it stops him. We were also told that if we touch hounds they would be destroyed and somehow that's our fault.... bizarre but he said it, constantly, talking at us. It's a philosophical reality for people of his ilk, like their sadistic "sport" with only one side competing, the other side is in actuality a victim running for its life. They call us unemployed when they prance around on their horses a few days a week presumably scrounging the subsidies they destroy the countryside to "earn". A panoply of double standards and blatant lies carried with the kind of entitled arrogance that carries on breaking the law WE seek to uphold.... Another Saturday and another trip to Burton Cunt-try. Today is the day that all the Burton scum will be putting on their overpriced finery and drinking supermarket lager at the show ground for their ball. So following last year when they went out an hour early we anticipated they might try the same again this year but alas upon arrival at Hall Farm it was apparent that they were going out at the usual eleven o'clock. Now if you follow our page you will know we have sabbed the burton from this meet numerous times now and we had a fairly good idea of the route Neil would take. They drew the thicket just behind the hall gates then headed west before heading south and doing a loop behind the kennels all the way over to the busy A road. They then headed north through the Riseholme Agricultural College campus drawing Riseholme Gorse where one of our foot teams saw a fox break but the hounds failed to pick up. Neil then took his pack and his band of sad acts back south through the campus putting hounds through the covers but working them far too quickly to allow them time to really search and pick up. They second horsed at the kennels just before one and the afternoon was more turgidness. Followed by one of our foot teams, he took the pack east and hunted around Grange De Lings and the anglian water pipeline before heading west and looping back south past the oil well, the hounds went into cry and our team to the south saw another fox break and were able to get into the field ahead of the hunt. Neil then spent a while gathering on the road whilst one of the field riders a regular agent provocateur for the hunt deliberately rode her horse into our parked vehicle, what a c@ #t!!! The hunt then continued south, they milled around for a bit and several riders were heard saying their goodbyes including dullard Edward. So on Monday and Tuesday we had sabs out spotting for the hunt, and yesterday sabs found the hunt exactly where we thought they'd be, at Coed Coch estate in Dolwen, which is owned by the Fetherstonehaughs, Davina the Huntmaster of the Flint and Denbigh, and her husband the Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd.... good people to have run an organised crime group. Our first vehicle at the meet was blocked in by hunt supporters unlawfully blocking public highways. By the time a second sab vehicle arrived the hunt were already onto a fox, and hounds were everywhere. With Eddie "hasn't got a" Clews now in charge, after Toby handed in his resignation, it probably wasn't the smartest of ideas to go near pregnant sheep. We found Eddie in a pheasant pen, trying to recover some hounds, as the rest were left to search for the fox, whilst running through fields of pregnant sheep. The hounds in the field of sheep did pick up on the scent of the fox. But sabs on the road were able to stop the hounds with voice calls, and sprayed over the line of the fox, to the disgust of Davina, who screeched "YOU'RE SPRAYING!".... Absolutely we are! Meanwhile more hounds had now rioted on the lawn of Ty'n y Ddol, and into another field of sheep. The Clueless huntsman ran off, heading up Baron hill, before regaining control of the pack of hounds. Eyewitness report. Redhorn hill, Urchfont. 28th February 24 11am RA foxhounds Information provided to SPHS by locals who kept eyes on most of the day. We are extremely grateful to the collection of dog walkers and Plain users who kept us informed of the hunt’s movements throughout the day. We are clear from reports given that illegal hunting was taking place throughout the day. There was no trace of a trail layer, of course. However, we are pleased to report that with only 7 mounted people today, most of them hunt officials and the hound van being used to follow with the wags on board, this hunt is a shadow of their former selves. They hunted the area north of the white horse trail from Redhorn hill to Market Lavington. We can't be sure there were no kills. What we can be sure of is their intent to continue to hunt wildlife in spite of the ban, in spite of the law and in spite of the fact that an unwilling public no longer wishes to see this arrogant display of disregard for nature on display. The faux Gentry, who rip innocent wildlife apart for fun clearly have nothing better to do with themselves. The shame. We think that a rider fell again today, which is hardly surprising given how treacherous the ground is in these weather conditions and these criminal gangs complete disregard for human safety never mind any shred of common decency. These recidivist career criminals should know they are being watched and their crimes tallied. Saturday 17th February. Chiddingfold, Leconfield & Cowdray Hunt, Littleton Farm, Duncton. Early start for hunt watch today, it wasn't long before saw hunt lorries and trailers heading through Petworth. We soon located the hunt unboxing near Duncton Hill where they spent around 45 minutes at the meet, before heading out. The last time they hunted here they had tried to flush foxes from Hazel Comb, so we decided to get ahead of them and placed 2 Sabs in that area. During the hour we were there, watching as the hunt arrived at the meet, following as they headed off, we saw no 'smokescreen' trail layer enter the copse: yet the hunt did indeed put the hounds in there while riders kept point around the copse. After drawing a blank there they headed through Burton Down towards Eartham Wood, we heard the hounds in cry there and pressed on to catch up with them. Four sabs caught up with them quickly and we stood around for twenty minutes while the hunt went through the usual process of trying to find lost hounds. We were surprised to see so many quad bikes out, we counted six out today, one of their vehicles had broken a glass windshield which they left on the ground: see photographs. It quickly became obvious why there were so many quad bikes when the hunt moved off three of them spent the next half hour attempting to stop our Sabs from following the hunt, we were not intimidated and pushed ahead. The hunt took this opportunity to speed off and cross the A285 towards Tegleaze, where Sabs once again caught up to them despite more harassment from quads. 24th February 2024 RA foxhounds Pennings Barn, Tidworth.11am Well that was the meet at least. This is public land and illegal hunting should not be taking place here, ever. Today at least, it didn't. Sabs were in attendance as a gaggle gathered intent on illegal activity. After last week’s detestable, cowardly violence, Charles Carter was lurking in the shadows of the barn or hiding behind the hound van as if he had something to be ashamed of...... which he does. The @northdownshuntsabs joined us, which pretty much evened the numbers of them (riders and all foot support) and us. We were regaled with the usual nonsense at the meet, but the hounds were not unboxed, and neither were the ½ dozen horses. The hounds were taken back to kennels. There they stayed. So did we, in case they snuck out again, but they didn't. Not an exciting day, but a triumph for our wildlife! 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘁𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁. Monday morning saw one of our team jump with with Nottingham Hunt Saboteurs to go and pay Snotts a visit at Kneeton. Although it was a lovely sunny day the wind was horrendous, Pretty ballsy of Robert to hunt in those conditions so close to the busy A46 but he's proven time and time again not to care about his animals. As the foot teams were with the hunt the others had a lovely conversation with a local land owner who was disgusted the hunt was on his land and was very vocal with them as he shooed them off, Just more proof that hunting is outdated and are not wanted. After watching them desperately try to find gaps or open / unlocked gates to leave the fields were in (did you really have permission to be there Robert?) they headed back to the meet and 'packed up' about 12.30, but being a suspicious lot, and having made the effort to come out and sab them we stuck around and sure enough about 30 minutes later Robert, Margaret, Couple of Masters, a whip and unfortunately a member of the next generation of hunters came back out of the meet and headed north along the side of the Trent. The terrain in this section of land was incredibly steep and treacherous in many places, funny place to lay a trail?🤔But despite that the hounds were cast through the dense woodland and caught the scent of a fox. Sabs worked quickly using Whips, Horns and Gizmo's to attempt to rate the hounds back and we are confident the fox got away. Robert, as per usual was a field away from his rating pack. As huntsmen go he really isn't very good and we don't think he's even trying now. After that brief attempt the hunt ambled it's way back to the meet and actually packed up this time. There is only about a month left of this season. 17th February 2024, Cambridgeshire with Enfield Chace at Odsey. An easy day for us today as we joined @northlondon_huntsabs @eastnorthantshuntsabs and @nshuntsabs to sab a hunt we don't do that often. With most hunts in the region cancelled due to waterlogged conditions, we made the long trip over to Hertfordshire. All very uneventful as we followed the mounted hunt around several fields and woodlands. It was all over by about 2pm with not very much to report. The goons on quads admitted that there might be 'accidents' today but with sabs all over them everywhere they turned the hunt seemed at a loss and had to keep stopping. A few brand new sabs out with us today, so a handy training day for them. Perhaps we'll do a proper hunt next week, not like this bunch of part timers... Springbottom Farm/ Baily’s farm 14/02/2024 With information, we made our way to Amesbury bumping into the hound van on the way. We dropped sabs off, and they made their way on foot to the meet. This meet has little vehicular access and restricted foot access plus the added bonus of an aggressive landowner/farmer who does not see the adorable side of us sabs but also get his kicks from shooting foxes! We were quickly informed that it was a Pony club meet. This means nothing, as this doesn’t mean they will not hunt. Carter made his way from his stables on his horse as the meet was on his doorstep. Just as well as driving his horse box without a sump is not a good idea. Oh sorry, he has already done that! Out of the meet at 12, they headed towards Normanton Down, this is a nature reserve and well sign posted. He then moved towards Coneybury Hill Plantation, foot sabs lost sight for a short time, however the support vehicles may well have had flashing lights saying “hounds here “and our vehicle was well placed. One thing to bear in mind is that a drone can be used as this meet was not on Salisbury plain. They quickly moved on to a disused pit, and what could only be described as adventurous trial laying as you will see in the pictures. We followed all the way along, with eyes on hounds and hunt staff, as they ran parallel with the road from Normanton Down House to the lake. We quickly drove to get ahead of them at lake wellhouse. Here the hounds got onto two deer and as the deer split it was very close. Sabs were straight out and saw that one deer had gone into high grass along with hounds close behind. Voice calls from sabs got the hound off the deer, we quickly informed Frank and told him to get hounds under control. What he did instead was break a fence down casting hounds into the grass again. Fortunately, the hounds did not get onto the deer. Carter was informed he needed to sort the fence out, his reply was “MOD coffers will pay for it as they will for my horse box.” Sabs, not sure if there was stock in the field, went about repairing the fence as best they could. We will be billing the RA for this, and the money will go to a charity of our choice ...
10/02/2024 Hare shoot, Hardingham Norfolk followed by West Norfolk Foxhounds at Tilney St Lawrence Following a tip off about a potential hare shoot in Hardingham we met up with @nshuntsabs @sono.sabs and Norfolk and Suffolk Against Live Quarry Hunting to try and put a stop to it. With brown hare numbers in this region in decline and shooting being one of a number of reasons for this decline it's vital to be able to stop these idiots from massacring this majestic creature wherever possible. A Lord of the Rings cast reject turned up with a couple of mates and threatened us with arrest for Aggravated Trespass so we left the field. Henry Edwards, who owns Hardingham Farms and the land the shoot was on and was also once a master of the West Norfolk Foxhounds, was overheard boasting to his police mates that he pretty much owns all of Hardingham. What a dick. We hope that the delay in shooting meant that some of the hares will live to see another day but their future there is awfully bleak either way. From there we headed to Tilney St Lawrence to check that the West Norfolks were behaving themselves. We arrived, with Norfolk/Suffolk sabs in attendance, to a rider laying a trail along the road. Hounds minus a huntsman, or anyone else, spilled out onto the road eventually followed by Norfolk County Councillor Bill 'Big Fanny' Borrett and some of the field and eventually huntsman Mikey 'Doughboy' Bell asking us what time it was because as well as being a shit huntsman he can't tell the time either. After holding up traffic in the road they turned into a field, hung around some hay bales and headed back to the meet at just after 1:30pm. We can't be sure what happened prior to our arrival but hounds did appear clean so hopefully a trail was followed from the off. Continued in comments.
10/2/24 RA foxhounds Rookery Farm Orcheston, 11am Once upon a time a long, long, long time ago on Salisbury Plain, there was an abundance of wildlife, and nobody hunted wild animals with hounds. Because, of course, it was illegal, immoral, deranged, and devoid of any understanding of the ecosystem, the environment or plain common decency. But that was just a fairy tale. Meanwhile back in the real world here we are again.... having to intervene to save lives on MOD land, from illegal hunting, the arrogant unspeakable at play. The meet was hosted by criminal enablers the Grants of Rookery Farm but bolstered by some excellent @Surreyhuntsabs, @surreyMonitors, us, and monitors we were with them all day to deny them their criminal intent. The trail liar was never less than a mile away from the hunt and hounds after the meet without her fake trail too, no idea what she's meant to be doing, what is her purpose in life we wonder? You could say that for most of the sadistic criminals that call this a sport, don't they know that in sport both sides are competing? They have decided to compete, they know they're competing. Unlike the unsuspecting wild animals pursued by privileged weirdos on horseback with 40 trained hounds, to rip the guts out of one fox who only wants to live and has no idea it's being harmed for "fun”. These amoral criminal gangs have decided to enter into what they regard, in their sadistic minds, as a sport, completely devoid of competition. We evened the score somewhat with a full crew of hunt sabs and monitors. Charles Carter always looks slightly embarrassed these days. Maybe that's because he allows the kennel Huntsman to actually hunt the hounds with their new part-time whipper-in whilst, he blows his horn to gather now and again. 3rd February 2024 RA foxhounds Upavon Airfield, 11am You'd seriously think if you ventured onto Salisbury Plain most Saturdays and Wednesdays and watched a few arrogant throwbacks blatantly illegally hunting; trying to kill our precious wildlife, that there was no ban on hunting in this country. You also might deduce that the people who continue to hunt illegally have absolutely no concern for the rule of law; never mind decency, compassion, or plain common sense. But twenty years after the ban there's blatant foxhunting taking place on public land. This is the level of corruption that's allowed to exist in this country at this time. When even senior police officers are starting to admit that they and everyone else knows that hunts carry on, breaking the law regardless, and so Charles Carter, and his bunch of career criminals totter about the Plain with a belly full of bevvies, a full pack (?) of foxhounds and murder on their minds. Senior police officers are starting to admit that Hunt Saboteurs should rightly be seen as peacefully trying to uphold the law. Whereas, the arrogant entitled compulsive liars, hunting with hounds, as committed to breaking the law. No surprise that Paul Smith who is employed by "LandMarc" to ensure compliance with the law on the Plain, was harassing our monitor group, filming, and threatening on his day off. At this stage it's just pathetic? 🤷♀️😆 One of our team jumped in with our friends Nottingham Hunt Saboteurs today to go give a visit to SNotts. Seriously? we are not sure anymore why they bother. As in if they weren't involving themselves in illegal hunting and trying to kill animals we would actually feel sorry for them lol. They could only muster Robert, Whipper in, 3 masters and 3 paying field for their day hunting. After meeting in Car Colston they spent the day between the Car dyke Bridges and Scarrington House with hounds briefly going into cry after a fox in the Willow grass just to the North of the house. Don't worry though, with 2 foot teams constantly on them we saw that fox to safety, then another one later in the day. We say later, they started at 11am, the 'field' were that bored they packed up at 1pm and Robert with his 'hard core' hunters were limping back to the meet to box up at 2pm. Long awaited hit report for Saturday! 13th January 2024 RA foxhounds Perham Down, Tidworth 11 am A big table of booze came out of the back of a car so the RA could ride drunk, alongside the drunk driving presumably taking place. Thankfully we were joined by our comrades from @surreyhuntsabs and @Eastsurreyhuntsabs which helped ensure sabs were able to keep eyes on the illegally hunting entitled throwbacks. Their smokescreen layer went past Surrey with her dirty rag, though even 5 minutes later hounds showed zero interest. Carter then lived up to his scattered reputation, losing hounds in Ashdown Copse. They spent a lot of the day there before getting onto a fox at Bedlam Plantation and losing it on the way back to Ashdown Copse again. Sabs worked hard to make sure that no wildlife was harmed, though several foxes seen to safety. Some rioting after deer and the now all too familiar lack of control of the pack. Even so with our extra support we wiped the smiles off their bloodthirsty faces and had a deserved shandy with our good friends and excellent hunt saboteurs @shs with a 4pm finish. We still have a bit further to ask for our vehicle fund any contributions would be appreciated. We have recently been made aware that the murderous Burton hunt will be holding their annual ball at Lincolnshire - Showground on the 2nd of March. This hunt is notorious for actively hunting and have already killed innocent foxes this season. Please contact Lincoln showground to ask why they are allowing this illegal hunt to use their facilities. They also have booked entertainment from Light Up Entertainment (potentially because no one local would agree to providing their services). We would like to ask them whether they are aware they are going to be providing entertainment for a hunting faction who actively kill wildlife, accost and threaten sabs and endanger the lives of their horses and hounds. Surely no reputable business would want to align themselves with that kind of notoriety? Another Saturday and another sab at the Burton, except this was a slight change in the routine as celebration was in the air for the hunt.... that is, until they saw us. Today's meet was Elms Farm in Spridlington, and in a display of their opulence and glamour this is where the Burton hunt chose to celebrate the birthday of one of their own. After the candles were blown out, they set off and we decided we had best ruin their birthday bash hunt. Although the hunt was in celebratory spirit, huntsman Neil was not on his best behaviour, someone pissed on his cornflakes this morning it would seem! After repeatedly attempting to use his horse as a weapon and push sabs into the ditch, it definitely seemed he might have been on the whisky already, even more so when he arrogantly made certain confessions such as to the joys (and corruption) of having friends in the police, and blatant confession of the impossibility of their own lies... that there is no way it is possible to have been trail hunting when they spent half the afternoon in elephant grass. Throughout the day we spotted two foxes running to safety, and we hope many more were saved. One in particular, ran behind three field riders a mere arms length away from them without being seen. We waited for them to finish their posh people natter and move on before spraying the area to mask the scent. All in all, the hunt were blatantly hunting throughout the day, but not to a very high standard with hounds all over the place. If anyone could add credence to their favourite post kill lie of "it was an accidental kill" it is Neil, almost believable in his case. Almost. Sadly, jokes aside, today was yet another week of proof of the reality of fox hunting, law or no law, these hunts are out week after week attempting to kill foxes, and we will be there, week after week, to stop them. Salisbury Plain hunt saboteurs 6th January 2023 RA foxhounds C1 crossing 11.30 am. Not much of a gathering for a joint meet. Lots of extra chatting and drinking. A couple of visiting whips tried to help keep hounds somewhere near the huntsman, but his ineptitude is only surpassed by his temper as he lashed out at one of the team with his whip whilst charging them down. Otherwise when hounds find, he loses, them and his cool. Be nice if that meant animals were safe, but of course that isn't the case. Hounds were often out of his control including all over Sidbury Hill which is an area they aren't meant to be on, not that this bothers Mr Arrogant, Scatter hounds Carter. As usual, no trail layer, no trail, and no MOTs for some of the doltards hoping for blood. I suppose if you have no respect for the law, why worry with such frivolities. From the meet they hunted towards the airfield and eventually right across to Pennings and Sidbury where the hounds were gorging on pheasants from a shoot, the hunt were clearly not meant to be there, not that they give a damn, just treat it all (the Plain) as their personal blood sports playground. Luckily for our precious wildlife, sabs were able to disrupt their "fun" and kept up with them over the day. The last hour spent gathering hounds spread in every direction before the slow ride back to the meet in the dark. A long tiring day for our teams. As we prepare our tax returns, really feel like asking how I cannot pay the full amount as they use my taxes to fund these criminals on land they should have been banned from, since the ban. Time is up for these throwbacks.... can't wait to see them consigned to the dustbin of horrible historical horrors, surely the only place they belong. 30/12/23 We found the RA at Fifield and were joined by @Surreyhuntsabs. While waiting for the hunt to get going from the meet we noticed, again, that some of the trailers had different number plates from the vehicle towing it. “Towing a trailer. Your trailer must display the same number plate as the vehicle you’re towing it with. If you’re towing more than one trailer, the number plate must be fixed to the trailer at the back.” https://www.gov.uk/displaying-number-plates/rules-number-plates. The hunt left heading straight to cross the busy A345, once across with most of the pack, (it wouldn’t be Charles Carter without losing a couple of hounds while leaving the meet!) they moved at pace through Cherry tree Farm Wood without picking up on much, certainly not a trail. They went on the Wexland ridge spending a lot of time moving backwards and forwards through it, moving on towards Royal Aircraft Establishment. While waiting, the day took a nasty turn. A vehicle, which had just been spotted chatting to Landmarc employee (Paul Smith) known hunt supporter who often helps loading and unloading hounds. The vehicle drove dangerously at speed, asking what we were doing, which we happily told them. They informed us they were there to support the hunt. The vehicle left but returned with a Range Rover full of lads. Sabs wisely got in their Landy and as they drove away, they were hit twice by Ball bearings fired from a catapult. (damage in pictures) We moved away and called the police. We have spoken to both LandMarc and the police over this matter. Thank you to Surrey sabs for keeping with the hunt while we were reporting this... ... May we add some advice for people who drive their car off road, don’t drive through deep water it’s not good for the engine! We had kind words from dog walkers and a couple of serving members of the army who were less than impressed with the connection of the Royal Artillery and Fox hunting. We've had a busy few days over the festive break and have realised we've missed a few hit reports on here! Here is a snippet from Boxing Day - After making a mess of Chitterne recreation ground with dog poo and plenty of libation, the RA set off up towards the German Village to illegally hunt foxes. Of course Salisbury Plain hunt sabs were present to record the day’s events and to stop wildlife being harmed. About 20 4x4 vehicles followed, probably mostly drunk, none with the required red cards ignoring all rights of way hoping for blood. It seems perverse to the rest of the world how these weirdos have nothing they'd rather be doing than seeing wildlife ripped apart for pleasure. A couple of hunt staff seemed incensed by our presence, saying we were on the wrong right of way whilst their legion of vehicles ploughed up the tracks. More worryingly one 4x4 had 6 children stood up on the back whilst driving. Completely idiotic and given the tragic death of a girl following the Beaufort hunt on the back of a quad bike it's an unconscionable risk... ... Rather tellingly for the main event of the season the hunt had only 14 riders out today. Ever decreasing circles for this publicly funded criminal gang. However, a result for our precious wildlife no kills in spite of their evil intentions. Hounds boxed at 3.30. Love wildlife? Make us your new year’s resolution! Crawley & Horsham Hunt. Peppering Farm, Burpham. 30/12/2023. 1pm. Our two teams spent the afternoon keeping tabs on the C&H, who were hunting on the Duke of Norfolk’s Land. Our foot team headed in from North Stoke through a very boggy area and found the hunt near the railway line. The vehicle team kept on the move, giving regular updates on the location to the foot team, at one point they were asked to leave the area. We caught up with the hunt a number of times, including at Canada Barn, this area is normally quite difficult for foot sabs as the hunt can gallop at speed across the South Downs. Today the fleet of 4x4's made it easy to spot the hunt, one of the vehicles was being driven by his Dukeness who bizarrely opened his window and told us to have fun: introducing himself as Eddie Norfolk! We followed the hunt to Camp Hill where they spent a long time figuring out their next move. After taking in a few circuits along hedgelines they headed back towards Burpham and packed up around 3:30pm. **Today we did not see the hounds pick up on a fox scent, probably because there are none. The Duke of Norfolk has a wild partridge shoot, so his land is littered with snares, and an army of gamekeepers who lamp foxes. This is all on the South downs, which is a national park, and named an area of outstanding beauty, however there is nothing beautiful about finding dead or dying animals in a snare. Thursday 28th December Weston and Banwell Harriers Cocklake, near Wedmore Following a tip-off from a member of the public, at short notice we managed to gather a group of sabs together - although due to work pressures we could only sab them for a couple of hours, however it was worth it as the hunt were fuming to see us. We found them illegally hunting foxes off a public footpath at Bartlett’s Bridge near Barny Lee’s house. As usual, we received a lot of aggression from hunt staff, support and field riders who verbally abused us and attempted to block and intimidate us off of the public footpath. When they saw the OS map, they finally realised they had been rumbled and could do nothing about it! We found huntsman, Steve Burton, drawing coverts in the search for foxes and the hounds soon went into cry - a supporter pointed in the direction a fox was running for their life. Yet again, we were blocked from following him and the hounds, and his wife, Sally Burton, felt it necessary to cover the lens of one sab’s video camera .to prevent us from filming their criminal activities. Sadly, we do not know the fate of this fox, but we hope they were able to escape. Dodgy Dave, the ‘trail’ layer, threatened one sab by telling them they would be kicked by one of the hunt’s horses if they kept walking too close to them. This video footage and the aforementioned will be sent to the police - we are members of the public and we have the right to walk along public footpaths without fear or intimidation by those who hunt our wildlife illegally. The last Saturday of the year saw us joining forces with our good friends @nottinghamhuntsabs and heading back to the Burton to help them close off 2023 in style. We found them at the meet at Barn farm just outside of Wragby at 11am and using our tactical wits we placed sabs in position to catch the hunt if they were to do anything unlawful (which they would never do right?). From the meet they headed west through to West Torrington with the hounds occasionally being cast into Coverts and scrub as the field riders followed at quite a distance behind. Sabs were with them for the entirety of the day as they trotted through Holton Cum Beckering, Through Fox Covert and towards Wickenby. We would like to say it was an exciting day, but it wasn’t. The field looked lacklustre and Neil seemed himself to not have any enthusiasm to want to actively hunt. It was almost like he was fed up with our company, that can’t be true though surely? Lol With the hounds barely speaking they cantered through fields near Snelland and made a last ditch effort to see what was about in the disused railway before heading back and boxing up on Watery lane. Sadly we did witness the end of a shoot which soured our mood somewhat, but we don’t think their mode of transport was entirely road legal? what do you think? One bright spark of the day was one local coming out to tell us well done 🥰 We know most local people despise the hunts as much as we do but it's always nice to hear it. After confirming that Neil and his sorry band of miscreants had indeed called it a day we all headed home to start our preparations to see in the new year.
