••• last summer ••• Wir haben noch ein Paar der letzten warmen Sommertage im September erhaschen können und sind mit unserem Wohnwagen an den Brombachsee in Bayern gefahren. In drei Stunden waren wir dort, passend auch für unsere kleine Maus. Mit Kindern ist Reisen einfach nochmal ein anderes Thema, das kennen sicherlich einige von Euch. Es hat viel Spaß gemacht und die Entspannung kam schlussendlich auch nicht zu kurz. Ich finde das element „Wasser“ bringt einfach etwas beruhigendes mit sich. In diesem Sinne: Bleibt gelassen und „Hey es ist bereits Mittwoch, die Hälfte der Woche ist rum und das Wochenende naht!“

Barcelona gave me a lot in a short period of time. I got to stay on the beach, eat some great food and explore a city that was very walkable with rich culture and architecture. A lot of that architecture was by a man that was truely ahead of his time when it comes to design and innovation, Antoni Gaudi. . Casa Mila (La Pedrera or stone quarry) was a private residence designed for the wealthy and it didn't disappoint. The apartments had luxurious amenities like indoor plumbing with hot water, elevators and a garage for your Rolls Royce, the first of its kind. . The apartment that was on display was so large that it had a seperate sleeping quarters for your full time maid, a huge kitchen for your servents to prepare your meal, a nice sized on suite bathroom and basically a layout to accommodate a full sized early 20th century family on a signle floor. All of this, mind you, before World War I. I live in a condo myself and I was surprised to see how forward thinking Gaudi was with his designs. This picture encapsulates a lot for me. It's obvious by my IG handle that I'm a beach enthusiast and my travel social circle will tell you that I'm always trying to find some salt water. This trip was a bit different and I had to reflect and take a deeper look into Barcelona's potential. I felt at home, like I could put down roots here. I've been to A LOT of cool places but Barcelona has everything an active outdoors person needs. I was impressed with the climate, public transit, people, geography and the history.
