On the other hand, the past is lively and can bother us, challenge us, or make us want to change it. People only want to control the future to fix or rewrite the past. That’s why when someone asks me what is history? Without a blink of an eye I reply history remains history and we never learn anything from history. This is very much true in terms of global warming and destroying nature, we know what our actions can do and we are still repeating the same mistakes in different ways. When I first started hiking in the Himalaya back in 2009 my main goal was to see the big eighthousanders. On the way I also fell in love with the culture and with the people of this region but the attraction from the mountains never vanished. . In Pakistan 🇵🇰 i had the desire to see the five big 8000 of karakoram but the logistic was not easy like in Nepal. Hiking to the base camps is restricted and very expensive for a solo hiker so I figured out something else ...☺️ There are lots of minor treks to panoramic peaks from where , if you are like with the weather, you can have a beautiful view on all the Karakoram mountain range. ....and I was lucky 🤍 . دژ ایزدخواست نخستین سازه ی آپارتمانی به دوران ساسانیان با پیشینه ای 1800 سال به ایران باستان Izadkhast Castle Sassanid empire Fars province The historical building of izadkhast in Fars city is 1800 years old and belongs to the era of the Sasanian Empire in ancient Iran. This historical complex is the first apartment building in the world. یکی از آثار تاریخی استان پارس مربوط به ایران باستان با پیشینه ی ۱۸۰۰ سال به دوره ساسانیان و سدههای آغازین دودمان طاهریان است و در شمال ایزدخواست و در ۶۰ کیلومتری شمال آباده جای گرفته شده است. این دژ کهن نخستین سازه آپارتمان نشینی در جهان را دارا است. مجموعه قلعه با شماره ثبت آثار ملی ۹۸۰۰ در تاریخ ۱۱ شهریور ۱۳۸۲ در آثار ملی ایران به ثبت رسیدهاست. چهارطاقی درون این کهن دژ ایرانی در سال ۱۳۲۷ با شمارهٔ ثبت ۳۷۶ بهعنوان یکی از آثار ملی ایران به ثبت رسیدهاست. این دژ نخستین سازه ی مهندسی طبقاتی جهان و پس از ارگ بم بزرگترین سازه خشتی جهان محسوب می شود. بلندای این دژ قلعه استوار از کف زمینهای پیرامونی با در نظر گرفتن ساختمانهای آن بیشینه پنج طبقه نزدیک به ۲۲ متر میرسد. ا ندازه ضلع شمالی دژ نزدیک به ۱۰ متر و ضلع جنوبی ۷۰ متر است و درازای دژ که خیابان اصلی است از آغاز تا پایان آن ۳۳۲ متر میباشد. دژ باستانی ایزدخواست بر فراز صخره بزرگی بنا نهاده شدهاست و در درون آن برماندهایی از آتشکده دوره ساسانیان بر جای ماندهاست. این چهارطاقی هماکنون به صورت یک مسجد درآمدهاست، با این همه در درون دژ آثاری از زمان اصلی ساختمان دیده میشود. وجود آتشکده در میانه دژ نشانگر حضور موبدان و طبقه اشراف، بزرگان و درباریان در دژ ایزدخواست بودهاست. این آتشکده پس از اسلام به مسجد تبدیل شد و هماکنون در فهرست آثار ملی ایران ثبت شدهاست. #دژ_ایزدخواست #امپراتوری_ایران #ساسانیان #آتشکده #سازه_آپارتمانی #استان_پارس #فارس #ارگ_بم #میراث_فرهنگی_ایران #آریایی #تاریخ_و_تمدن_ایران #ایران_زرتشتی #زرتشتیان #فرهنگ #izadkhast #Castle #Iran #historical #unesco #Sassanidempire #Asia #Persia #Fars #photography #traveling #bbctravel #tehrantimes #natgeo #photo

Australia’s ‘Blue Mountains’ were formed some 300 million years ago when layers of sedimentary deposits were laid down in a shallow ocean that covered the area. About 50 million years ago the area was uplifted, the strata warped and small faults developed in the exposed strata. Fast forward to today and continued erosion by water permeating those small faults has led to the formation of the spectacular gorges and steep escarpments that are so admired by over 4 million people each year. Look! A few photos from the Tu Van pagoda, in the southern Vietnamese city of Cam Ranh. We stopped here briefly for a rest on our motorcycle trip, because we had heard the temple was cool. It's got a large grounds and garden, filled with well-tended plants and weird plaster statues of animals (as is typical to many temples here), but the main draw of this place is the massive tunnel that was constructed in the rear of the temple. It's built entirely from corals and weird sea-rocks that have been dredged from the sea, and the tunnel winds for an impossibly long time in complete darkness. It's filled with strange statues, and a handful of bats and rats have also taken residence inside of it, which you will surely encounter as you traverse through. I imagine it's some kind of Buddhist metaphor for the narakas or something. When you finally finish, the tunnel's exit passes through the mouth of a large serpent, which you can see in the fourth photograph.
. This stunning, little hill top village is a must see for all art enthusiasts! Located only a 30 mins drive from Nice, and 20 mins from Cannes, Mougins is an ideal choice for a day trip. One of the first things you’ll see when you arrive is the giant bronze sculpture of Pablo Picasso’s head. It’s 2,40 meters high, and you can stand inside of it, something lots of tourists do for fun whilst waving their hands out of its eyes. It looks a bit bizarre to be honest.. 😅 Picasso lived and worked the last years of his life here, until he passed away in 1973. A lot of famous artists and designers drew their artistic inspiration from Mougins, such as Edit Piaf, Christian Dior, César Baldaccini, Yves Saint Laurent and Catherine Deneuve. At the Musée d’Art Classique you can see work by Pablo Picasso, Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy and lots of other famous artists.
