Did you know Unlike adults, babies don’t shiver when they’re cold to generate heat? Instead, they become unnaturally quiet and still. The reason is because their body’s energy begins diverting toward trying to retain heat rather than crying, feeding or any other activity. Keep those tootsies warm! It is important that your baby goes barefoot however during these cold winter days it is also important to keep your baby's feet warm for proper thermo regulation. Especially when going outdoors. Shoes are not recommended for babies during the first year however, to prevent little feet from getting chilled, it is good to have them wear socks and/or booties made of cotton or wool blend fibers.
