When I was pregnant with my first baby, I spent so much time prepping for the labour, that I neglected to give enough thought to my postpartum plan. I ended up feeling like I was studying for an exam that I was already taking, while sleep-deprived, irritable, and overwhelmed. Taking the time to develop your pregnancy support team is key to helping the postpartum experience go as smoothly as possible. While you may never need the support of any of these support people, if you do, knowing who you will call will help save you. We love it when people reach out to us when they're pregnant to establish a relationship so that we can get to it and be there to support them once their baby arrives and they need it the most.
