matcha cherry blossom cream pie all butter crust / matcha cremeux / sakura chantilly 🌸🍡✨ While cherry blossom flavoring is hard to get, I can never resist making a hanami themed dessert come spring. I love the soft pinks and greens and the bittersweet transience that the flowers symbolize. Many sakura powders are vaguely floral and don’t capture the more savory, herbal dimension of the cherry blossom flavors I’ve enjoyed in Japan. For this reason I try to find powders that are made with salt pickled sakura or sakura leaves. Still, I haven’t quite found what I’m looking for. I’m inexperienced at pie making so I have to thank pie queen @sayanafewd for her helpful pie tutorial. Among other things, my perennial struggle is keeping pastry cool in my warm, humid place. 𝗚𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗸 Nicht mehr ganz so süß, vergleichsweise mild, mit einer feinen Mandelnote nimmt sich die Amatika Blanche 35% mehr zurück, bricht aber gleichsam satter als zuvor. Ein sahniger Schmelz schmeichelt der Vanille. Die intensive Blaubeere tritt ein bisschen mehr hervor, die volle Kokosnuss ebenso, sobald sie sich aus dem mürben Teig löst.
