The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) invites athletes, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, Sports Federations, Governments, Major Event Organizers and all other anti-doping stakeholders around the world to “save the date” of 14 April to celebrate Play True Day 2023. Since 2014, in April of every year, the global anti-doping community has come together to celebrate Play True Day—a digital campaign that is dedicated to clean sport and raising awareness among athletes, the sporting public and others of the importance of preventing doping. It is done in homage to your coach, lineage, and team. . . The word Wai means to pay respect in thai, kru means teacher, ram means dance, muay is boxing. Wai- kru- ram -muay . . Ancient Siamese soldiers are said to have done it before war and famous courageous soldiers like Nai Khanomtom have secured it in our tradition forever. . . On this day my amazing girlfriend learned my Wai kru. #waikruwednesday #waybackwednesday I was sooooo sick for weeks leading up to this fight. I went to the doctor a few times for different types of medicine and antibiotic injections, but couldn't get better in time. Even during the fight, I was sniffling and my nose was running. But I fought anyway because, then, it was one of few opportunities for women to fight on a bigger stage. I knew being sick would affect the chances of me winning, but I was going to be sick either way... And I REALLY wanted to fight. Was it the smartest thing I've done? Probably not. #waikruwednesday #waybackwednesday I can't believe it's been three years already! 😖 February 10, 2018. I fought for my first title and won by TKO - for the first time as well. I finished the fight in the third round. I felt strong, focused, sharp, and my body was moving how it was supposed to. The only bad thing about that night was that they wanted me to pay for the belt (7x more than what they paid me) so I didn't get to keep the physical belt. Looking back, I wish I had just found a way to get the money so I have the belt for keepsake, but it's way too late now 🤣 I also cried when they put the belt on me LOL 2018 was a good year for me in terms of fighting. This title fight was my fight time winning by T/KO. Following this fight, I alternated between losses and wins BUT I was fighting the top people at the time. Starting in 2017, I was continuously put up against the top Thai women in 52-53 kg. And those fights were great fights. They really tested me AND proved I was able to establish myself in Thailand. A few more 2018 highlights: I won another fight by TKO when we went to Sa Keao for Songkran. In July, I fought Looknam for the WPMF World Title but lost. In August, I took a fight on two-days' notice (3-4 weight classes higher) vs Hongyoklek and won. October was the start of the 4-fight "rivalry" between me and Rungnapa, which I won (and I got pissed tf off because I was jipped part of my fight purse after we drove and stayed overnight in Korat). And to end 2018, I won by TKO for the third time when I went down to Phuket. I had 10 fights in 2018. 2 of those were title fights. 6 of those fights were against people significantly bigger than me. Of all the 3 TKO wins I had in 2018, they were all against bigger opponents. I cried during fight camp sometimes, I was yelled at almost every day by Monlit, and there were lots of times when I really felt like I wasn't progressing. But those fights were proof that I had put in the work. The biggest takeaways: 1) keep going. As long as you're trying your best, you are getting better and 2) next time, BUY THE DAMN BELT Hit me up if you want a pair of Thai shorts to support an upcoming docuseries I'm making 😎
