Yes, there's a connection between your Attitude, Gratitude, and Golf. And here it is. Golf's not my thing. It's not that I don't like it; I just never learned to appreciate it. I played once with my brother and two friends, but it turned out to be a giant version of put-put golf. But when I saw an article about the 2024 Masters and how it could help with attitude and gratitude, I had to look. Here's what I found: First, there's "The Bounce; in golf, you never know where the balls will land. Sometimes, this helps; sometimes, it can completely change the game. We know life is precisely like that. Sometimes, things won't go our way, and sometimes they do. It all depends on the bounce. But just like golfers, we get to decide if we give up or keep playing no matter what comes our way. It's about staying focused on what's next and moving forward. Next, it's all about a growth mindset. Golfers always look ahead to the next opportunity rather than dwelling on their mistakes. They keep practicing gratitude for what they have and where they're headed. We can adopt that same mindset. Instead of getting bogged down by setbacks, we can keep moving and looking forward; there's always another chance to tee off again. Lastly, let's talk about Max Homa's. Even though he didn't win the Masters, he still approached the game with gratitude and appreciation. He said, "Today, I played with a ton of gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to do this. I'm really glad I get to do it again tomorrow." Just like Max, we, too, can do the same. By focusing on our efforts and celebrating our victories, big or small, we can cultivate a positive outlook that allows us to feel good about our accomplishments. So, there you have it. While golf might not be everyone's "thing," we've been talking about gratitude and attitude, not golf! As the cooler months approach here on the Sunshine Coast, you might be wondering what happens to all the snakes.. Lots of people assume they hibernate during winter but snakes have a unique way of coping with the cold, called brumation. Unlike hibernation where animals enter a deep sleep, snakes in brumation remain active but in a slowed-down state, seeking out warmer spots to wait out the cold. In nature they can go underground, in the base of a hollow tree or deep into rock walls. Unfortunately though, because of how much habitat people have taken over they are often found in our man-made structures. Think chicken coops, garden sheds, under concrete slabs, in the roof. They basically want to find a spot that shields them from the cool breezes and rain. It’s not uncommon to see snakes sleeping out in the open or cruising around on a warm, sunny winters day.
