I often get offered an array of magical beauty products through social media advertising, promising me fuller lips and less belly fat, but they haven’t been scientifically proven to work by a flock of eagles. We can't wait to welcome you back to Fimber Halt. Why not come to say hello, enjoy a ride on the veranda on our recently launched in to traffic brakevan, enjoy a step back in time in our visitor centre, or simply sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Fimber Halt right in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. Subject to availability, we will be running trains and opening the visitor centre every Sunday and Bank Holiday from Easter until the end of October and every Wednesday during school holidays from 10 - 4. Additionally, the visitor centre only will also be open every Wednesday from Easter until the end of October from 10 - 4. Access to the visitor centre and car park is free, with a train ride from only £5! As our opening day is Easter we have set up a treasure trail where for £1 children will be given an entry form and a chocolate bunny or coin and have to find coloured ribbons which will be placed across the site. 🚂🥳Since taking delivery on Yorkshire Day 2018 (1 August), members of the YWR have been busy cleaning, welding, painting and a myriad of other jobs to complete a full restoration of a BR 20t brake van. All this hard work is now complete and we can't wait for our launch event on Sunday 17 September. We will be open as usual from 10-4, and will have a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this exciting milestone at 11.30. A huge thank you to all the members, donors, and suppliers that have made this happen - in all weathers! Please come and join us to experience the YWR like never before as you ride our almost 1/4 mile of track outside from the veranda of our latest piece of rolling stock - the brake van! After Sunday 17 September, we will be running trains and opening the visitor centre every Sunday from 10-4 until the end of October. Rides at the YWR will be either in the locomotive cab or in the brake van and will be fully dependant on crew availability on the day.
