I didn't do an end of year round up, a best of list, or a thank you post for all of the awesome clients and friends who asked me to capture some part of their 2023. Sometimes that end-of-year deluge of recaps and summaries becomes noise. And well... I was ready for a holiday by the time December rolled in. So as we settle into the new year I wanted to look back with huge appreciation for the good sorts who let me photograph them last year. Kicking off with Dairne and her whānau for Dairne's 50th birthday celebration. Our cinema-inspired take on the traditional family portrait made it to the World Photographic Cup baby! The finalists have been announced and while my image didn't make it into the Top 10 Portraits in the Illustrative category I am forever grateful that we were even in contention. That was a such a thrill for me and for Dairne. I'm still on a high for the Gold Award it received at the NZIPP Iris Awards in August. Quiero expresar mi gratitud nuevamente al equipo de @fotografosecuatorianos por allanar el camino y tener la iniciativa de formar un equipo que llevó al país al mundial por segunda vez. Creo firmemente que son estas iniciativas (que salen auto gestionadas) las que deberíamos tomarnos en serio, ya que motivan a todo el gremio a considerar la profesión como un modelo a seguir, algo que hubiera sido inspirador durante nuestra formación. Considero que los concursos de fotografía están ahí para inspirarnos porque rodearte de personas talentosas te motiva a crecer y ver más allá de lo que conocemos. Wow. I don't know what else to say!? My image "Champagne Celebration" was selected to represent TEAM USA in the 2024 World Photographic Cup!!!!!!!! . . The WPC is the highest level of competition in the photographic industry, with teams from 42 countries around the world competing. . . First and foremost, thank you to @nancykleinpa and @dklein93 for making this image at the magnificent @cliffhousemaine possible in the first place! And to all my photografriends especially @nhppa for all your messages when Team USA was unveiled at @ImagingUSA! I was required to hold back this news for MONTHS while the judging was underway, and now I can finally share! . . Ultimately, my image was not a finalist, and that's okay. The competition is absolutely top tier. I'm beside myself as it is just being on a team with some of the top photographers in the WORLD! . . I'm just a boy from a small town in Maine. Anything is possible, friends... Put your heart into what you do. Never stop learning and pushing yourself to grow. Great things will follow.

World Cup finalist! For the third year running I get to represent Sweden in the World Photographic Cup finals, where the top 10 images in each category compete for the medals. Each image gets a score which also contributes to the team total. It’s such an honour to be up there with some of the best in the industry in the Illustration/Digital Art category! Team Sweden did amazing this year and have a total of 6 images in the finals. Not bad for a small country!
