For her eighth studio album, Anastacia chose a unique concept of recording English translated versions of German rock/pop hits. While a unique concept, Germany is one of Anastacia’s largest markets. I have always been perplexed as to why she never caught on with a larger American audience despite being a native of Chicago. I think it’s a nice way to recognize the loyalty of her German fanbase without excluding her European/UK fans. While not necessarily toting any major standouts, these covers sound like they could be original to Anastacia to anyone unfamiliar with the original versions and keep with her usual formula.
