Chloe is recovering so well from her Cherry eye surgery and she isn’t letting the cone of shame get her down. She was all smiles at the adoption event yesterday. #4Paws4rescue so I needed a couple bags of dirt, so I went to Home Depot, I was also dog sitting and Home Depot is pet friendly so I took him with me. He came from a sad hoarding situation where he did not get the attention and guidance that a new puppy needs. 🥺 However he has grown into a wonderful dog in foster care. He is 100% herding dog: super smart, energetic, loving, energetic, very happy, and did we mention energetic? It’s officially been a year since little Howie came to us. Howie is about 4 years old. He came to us completely undersocialized from a puppy mill. He has made amazing progress with his foster mom and is almost a completely normal dog at home. He needs to go to a home with a fenced in yard and a social dog in the home. He needs someone that will show him an extreme amount of patience as he will most likely take a few months to warm up to a new place and new people. He will just most likely try to hide and avoid you. We know that Howie will warm up to a new person like he has his foster mom he just needs someone to give him a chance and allow him to do it at his own pace. He is not potty trained but has made progress there as well. Please read full bio. This little guy is Howie. Some of you may have seen him posted previously with his brother Jace. After lots and lots of thought and consideration we have decided to allow them to be adopted separately. They came to us a year ago from a puppy mill both completely feral. Howie has made an amazing turn around with his foster mom. He asks (sometimes demands) to be petted and he will cuddle (as long as you are actively petting him). He has made lots of improvements on potty training but still has a ways to go. His brother has made much slower progress and seems to do better when he is worked with without Howie there to protect him. Howie has started enjoying getting love so much he will push Jace out of the way on the rare chance Jace is wanting some love. That’s why we have come to this decision. We have always known that Howie would be ok without Jace but until recently we thought Jace needed Howie. We can almost guarantee that Howie is going to completely backtrack his progress when he goes to a new home so he is going to need a very patient person. He does have a couple requirements, he needs a home with another social dog in the home and he needs a fenced in yard. Morty has a sad story. :( He was living a very spoiled and loved life but a few weeks ago his Dad passed away very unexpectedly. We were contacted for help and could not try to help this sweet confused boy. Unfortunately due to all our fosters being full Morty is currently in boarding. The kennel life is NOT for this boy its hard on him. The staff does their best to make him comfortable but as you can imagine he is stressed and confused. We are hoping to find him an adopter asap. Morty is a purebred German Shepherd, 18months old and 75lbs. Morty is a typical GS and would benefit from someone who has breed experience. Right now he needs someone to give him a little time to decompress because he is so confused. We know in a home environment he would be a totally different dog, it’s so hard to tell how dogs are when they are stressed in this type of environment. He is so sweet once he feels comfortable with you and just wants your love and attention. And although he lived with another dog at this time he needs time to settle in, feel comfortable and then could do well with slow intros. Morty is very smart and takes direction well so training would be easy but he needs a little work and socialization. He also loves loves to play fetch it is his favorite thing to do and makes him the happiest! If anyone is out there that has the patience, understanding and a love for the shepherd breed please reach out to us with any questions or complete an application.
