Tech research and innovation take centre stage at the tenth annual Applied Research in Action (ARIA) showcase! Hosted by the @uoftmscac program, which is housed within @uoftcompsci, ARIA highlights cutting-edge technological research and advancements from students, faculty and a wide range of key players in Toronto’s tech industry. With increasing need for Environmental, Modern Slavery and Natural Health disclosures companies will need to measure and deliver on these transparency requirements 3️⃣ Investor Relations professionals are finding it challenging to move beyond compliance to value creation, but there's increasing pressure to turn ESG into an advantage 4️⃣ Although this space is evolving quickly and companies are fast-playing catch up, it is an exciting time. ESG is now a critical capability with conversations occurring at the board room level--and there's opportunity to go beyond to spur large-scale transformation that benefits generations to come

Professor Balderston: -is professor of cello at DePaul University -studied with Lynn Harrell at The Juilliard School -was a member of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for 10 years, after which he was Assistant Principal Cello with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 10 years -has played solo works and chamber music with Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Christoph Eschenbach, Lynn Harrell, Yo Yo Ma, Menahem Pressler, Gil Shaham, Joseph Silverstein and Pinchas Zukerman FUN FACTS: Professor Balderston collects CD recordings📀 He has over 3000 recordings including classical, jazz, rock, and world music genres. Here is what she has to say about her time as a student at ARIA 🎶 "ARIA was one of the most transformative, inspiring, eye-opening and worthwhile experiences I had in my early flute journey. I attended ARIA for two summers (after my senior year of high school and first year of college) and I got to study with some of the world’s most famous and remarkable flute performers and pedagogues. The lessons and studio classes taught me so much and I was able to make immense progress as a flutist and musician. I made life-long relationships with many of the faculty members there who have continued to greatly support and impact my career. ARIA is an incredible intensive that I highly recommend to all aspiring professional flutists."
