Senior Schnoodle Tillie was having a lot of trouble with her back and her hind legs. Despite being on all the best meds, she was still quite wobbly and weak, was having trouble getting up out of bed and even needed help to make sure she didn't fall when she was toileting. She had decreased proprioception, meaning that the messages between her brain and her back legs weren't transmitting so well, and sometimes she 'knuckled over' with her hind feet. @collaroyveterinaryhospital suggested that acupuncture could help, so Tillie came to Beaches Pet Therapies for treatment. Her gait and strength began to improve. We then added hydrotherapy and rehab into the mix with @threemonkeysrehab. Tillie has made great progress, she is stronger than she has been in a long time and no longer needs help when she toilets. The top pic shows Tillie at her first treatment. you'll see her spine is quite arched, and she doesn't have much muscle bulk down her back. This soulful fellow is Pablo who was recently rushed to emergency unable to walk and in terrible pain with IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) creating pressure on his spine. Dachshunds are one of the breeds more susceptible to IVDD. He had a CT and was assessed by @thepetspecialists who found that luckily he didn't need spinal surgery, he was able to go home on very strict rest and with medications to reduce the inflammation and pain. As part of his recovery Pablo is also having rehab and hydrotherapy with @threemonkeysrehab and acupuncture with Beaches Pet Therapies. BEECHWORTH YOU WERE AMAZING BUT MAYBE NOT ON A LARGE CHAINRING Didn’t check my di2 and battery died 30km into my 90km ride @beechworthgraniteclassic . Bike computer also flew off so it went into my jersey pocket so didn’t see any warning signs of my impending lack of ability to change gears. Did 2/3 of the ride on the large chainring stuck somewhere in mid-gear ratio and completed it! Had to push the bike up some of the steeper climbs and cramped once! But nothing CrampFix couldn’t take care of. With all that being said, it was an amazing experience and kudos to the crew @beechworthgraniteclassic for putting it together. Felt like we were gatecrashing a community ride but they were all so welcoming. Smiling faces all around!
