Ça fait longtemps que je ne me suis pas vraiment présenté et notre page a vraiment grandi. Je me suis donc dit qu’il était temps de me montrer à nouveau 🙂 Hello ! Moi c’est Mathys ! 35 ans, j’ai commencé par faire de la vidéo en 2015 jusqu’à 2018 (publicité et mariage) mais étant handicapé moteur cérébral j’ai vite vu que j’étais limité dans le développement de mes idées. J’ai donc commencé à toucher à la photographie. Après avoir suivi un cours crash test de 1h sur la photographie flash je me suis dis que j’avais envie de tenter l’aventure…. De nature impulsive j’ai de suite loué un espace de 16m2 où je pouvais m’exercer et accueillir mes premiers clients. Après 6 mois j’ai pour le fun participé à un concours ouvert mondialement à tous les photographes (amateurs et pro) et j’ai été classe 97eme mondial dans la catégorie portrait sur 150000 photographes de cette catégorie. Puis j’ai été featuré par LooksLikeFilm comme photographe portraitiste de l’année 2021 en même temps qu’avoir été élu meilleur photographe wedding par l’illustré. (Malgré avoir arrêté depuis) Je me suis dis que je devais donc évoluer et proposer de la photographie boudoir haut de gamme en lançant mon concept boudoir pin-up. Mon idée était de crée une offre unique en Suisse par le fait de proposer un nombre incroyable de service pour le prix de 99CHF seulement ! Personne ne propose une telle expérience à ce prix ! Oui il y’a des séances à 99.- ou moins ou plus… mais pas avec tout ce qu’inclus notre expérience et non plus classé mondialement. Coiffure maquillages, robes et décors incroyable, tout y est pour vivre une expérience qu’aucun autre studio ne propose ! Today we attempted to climb Mt. St. Helen’s and although we weren’t able to make it all the way to the summit, we gave it ALL we got despite terrible weather, no visibility, ice pelting our faces, frozen fingers and toes, and a nearly traumatic ending which thankfully ended well. This was the best and hardest day of my life and I would do it again with this crew in a heartbeat! @foulkette changed my life with how I look at mountains and instead of loathing them, I smile. Instead of running away from inclines, I run towards them. I felt my dad with me the entire time and took a few minutes to honor him, despite tears being frozen mid way down my face. Above all, being the woman that hears herself before anyone else hears her is the standard. If you don't hear and understand what you are talking about, speaking on and encompassing - yourself, you will forever find validation in being heard by another. You will feel controlled by others opinions of you. You will be willingly handing over your power to, them. Over Standing in your own power of self. Because when push comes to shove and someone other than yourself doesn't hear you in the way you want to be heard WHILE you truly cant and wont hear yourself - your validation drops, your self esteem disappears, your sense of value declines and your worth is pushed down. This decline is only possible if you seek to be heard by others, above hearing yourself first. Start with you. Hear you. Understand who you are and what you're saying and feel secure in yourself when you speak and open up that beautiful voice of yours. IF someone does not agree, not hear, not resonate and not validate what you are then saying, speaking on and voicing - THAT is where you find the dissolve of yourself STOPS. THAT is where you find "you're okay with them not agreeing with you" because you've heard yourself and put value INTO YOUR OWN VOICE before theirs. THIS is where you can agree to disagree, where you can feel PEACE even if your voice isn't understood by someone else, because you understand yourself. Who am I? 🤔 I realise some of you know me pretty well but others may not, especially newer followers. It's been more than 1 year since I did a post like this so I thought I'd re-introduce myself! ⬇️👋 I'm Maddy and I come from Devon in South West England. I was lucky to grow up surrounded by nature, woodlands and stunning coastline (Photos 1 & 2). This had a big impact on me and I still feel very connected to nature. In England I worked as a mental health nurse which was very rewarding. I specialised quickly and worked in the community with people in their homes which suited me much better than a hospital environment 🌿🌿 I started doing yoga 12 years ago and fell in love with it. In 2018 I travelled around Asia & Australasia with my partner Angelo and during this trip completed a 200hr yoga teacher training in Bali which was amazing (photo 3) 🧘🙏 In September 2019 I moved to Belgium to live with Angelo. When I'd learnt some Dutch/Flemish I started teaching yoga and have been building up my little business ever since! I teach weekly classes and organise yoga events. I also regularly give 1:1 sessions, company yoga sessions, and yoga in schools. Since living here I've completed a 25hr Restorative Yoga teacher training and a 50hr Yin Yoga & Anatomy teacher training (photo 4). These trainings have hugely influenced the way I teach. I'm now slowly working my way through a 25hr Breathwork teacher training online 🧘🙏 When I'm not doing yoga you'll probably find me hiking or in the sky doing my other hobby! I've been a skydiver for 15 years now and it's something I love to do all over the world together with Angelo. I've been part of many amazing events including World records, an air show in China and skydiving above the pyramids of Giza in Egypt (photo 5 credit: @juanmayerphoto) 🪂🪂 Living in Belgium is different but has its charm and I love it. We have a beautiful Malinois dog, Jane who we adopted 3.5 years ago and she has completed our family (photo 6). We travel around Europe a lot so living here is pretty convenient; and there's just enough nature around to to keep me happy 🐕💓 That's about it I think! Thanks for reading if you got this far...

Self-portrait - The right frame of mind. Self-portraits capture a moment in time, traditionally consisting of head and shoulders painted on canvas produced by an artist, through the study of oneself. It can be argued today’s modern equivalent is a #selfie taken on a smartphone and uploaded to social media. The ability to create a self-portrait is available to all nowadays. While a selfie captures the image of oneself in a moment, it is without reflection, knowledge or understanding of ourselves. We have the outcome without the need for the process. Therefore my focus has been looking harder at who I am and what I do and a way to record myself as an artist. Each framed self-portrait captures a moment of process and meditation. Metaphorically I wear many hats. These hats led to the physical creation of a drawing machine, capturing the marks from my movements in my many roles. Using traditional materials such as paint pens on canvas I have acknowledged the traditions of the past and used them in a new way. Displaying these in gold frames with a nod to the Parisian Salon style from days of old. Taking time out at the end of the day with the burning of a candle. The candle hangs freely to drip and create these amazing textured circles which hold the days thoughts and reflections. Candle wax being a material that was used in encaustic paintings to create Self-Portraits. The spiral design reflects the spiritual connections with the moments I have recorded. Slowing down and thinking about who I am and what matters to me. The frames used here are gathered from the community. An outstanding response and a privilege to be part of such an amazing village. Can you see yourself? Displaying in the window has allowed the community to become part of the artwork. I am reflected within my community and my community is reflected in all I do.
