🎏 Hands up who's coming to the Wild Harvest Seafood Festival's first ever lantern parade? Join us for this spectacular display of creativity. The community has been working hard creating a 'sea' of lanterns that promises to shine a light on all things wild. See what we did there 😜 (bear with us, this is a long one, but read on for all the lantern parade details) 📍The parade will start within the Mallacoota Foreshore Holiday Park at the corner of Schnapper St and Panoramic Dr (below reception) then follow the foreshore around to Coulls Inlet to admire the display of fish lanterns over the water. 💡For the kindergarten and school kids who participated in the recent workshops be sure to bring along your creations, we can can't wait to see them all! We will be handing out the lights before the parade starts so please consider this when planning your arrival time. 🏮For those who weren't involved in the workshops, don't worry this event is still for you. If you’re a Melbourne coffee drinker there’s a good chance that you owe the quality of your daily cuppas to this passionate coffee man. He has given private training to so many elite coffee professionals at his St Kilda flat. A couple of winters ago I stayed and worked in Melbourne. I met a barista (Yae @yaedamae ) then, who managed a very popular high-end bakery/cafe in CBD (She since moved to Sydney with her barista husband Kajya @kajya_barista_sydney ). Nowadays both hold key positions at two different premium coffee businesses @leiblecoffee & @onlycoffeeproject . I admire her coffee skills/knowledge and her coffee passion. When I told her so, her response was “I’m nothing. There are people who are really passionate about coffee…”. I thought she was, being a humble sort, just a little embarrassed. However I had the privilege of visiting Dom sensei’s flat soon after that conversation. It was in an unassuming ordinary building in St Kilda. Once I opened the door though there was nothing ordinary about what my eyes could see and my nose could smell. It was wall to wall Coffee - green beans, roasted beans, grinders, espresso machines, batch makers, pourover equipment, coffee post-it-notes and much more all meticulously organised. Immediately I understood Yae’s words… The alumni of Dom sensei’s advanced coffee training can be found at so many prominent coffee venues in Melbourne - Maker, Crimson, St Ali, Calēre, Ona, Veneziano, Sevenseeds, Bench to name the few that I know of. And these top level coffee people have been helping their colleagues and friends. So Dom sensei’s influence is unmeasurable.
