Jerome Leung (b. 2002) is an emerging contemporary artist and journalism student whose artistic journey is marked by a deep fascination with human solitude and modern relationships. Primarily working with acrylic on canvas, and occasionally exploring digital mediums, Jerome’s thought-provoking pieces feature characters with the absence of mouths, symbolising the inherent challenges of expressing emotions in a society of impatience and vulnerability. Through using vibrant colours, quick brushstrokes and geometric shapes, Leung conveys in his works the longing for emotional fulfilment. Driven by a passion for observing human connections induced by his journalistic background, Jerome has embarked on an evocative series of paintings that delve into the complexities and nuances of contemporary relationships. Madame Fu Grand Café Chinois - Hong Kong 🇭🇰 In short, the Madame Fu Grand Café Chinois combines excellent food, elegance and style, lovingly decorated rooms, indoor and outdoor dining and excellent service, in a retro colonial ambience. We came for a lunch break and tried a number of different dim sums, all of which were excellent. As difficult as the choice among the many mouthwatering dishes, was the choice in which of the different rooms to settle down, as each has its own unique character. The restaurant is located in the Tai Kwun complex - an old police station, dating from the 1880s, that has been completely restored and reopened as a new cultural and culinary hotspot on Hong Kong Island in 2018. This performance, premiering in Asia, takes participants on a journey starting in Tai Kwun to the Tung Wah Coffin Home, transitioning from a bustling and vibrant city to a serene and peaceful realm of serenity. Along the journey, participants will encounter undertakers, caretakers, and life enthusiasts who will share their personal experiences, weaving a tapestry between labor and repose, and providing insights into the intricate relationship between life and death. ”𝘋𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯”, although implemented in different cities, invariably culminates in a cemetery. A cemetery, as the final resting place of human bodies, is a meticulously arranged space that reflects our control over death and remembrance, shaping our views and understanding of life. It is also a miniature city, with its orderly arrangement seeming to depict the life trajectories of its citizens. The original version of “𝘋𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯” premiered in Barcelona in 2021 and received the Critics’ Award for Best Street Arts Show and the Catalan’s El Temps de les Arts Award for Best Theater Show.
