What a beautiful, heavy day that holds so much. A day for celebrating and appreciating moms. I reflect a lot on the mom that I want to be, and I think a lot about the moms in my life who inspire me. My own mom who is so strong, there have been times this year when I wonder if she is literally made of steel. My mom friends who encourage me to silence the outside voices and trust what I believe is right. My student’s mom who lost her own mother a few months ago, then woke up the next day and made a decked out waffle tower breakfast for her kids. The widowed moms I know who refuse to give up on their lives and continue to go after a meaningful life. The mama in Uganda working with everything she has so she can put her kids through school because she believes in the hope of giving them a future. My friends who are giving all they have to becoming moms. The empty nester moms who trust in the work they’ve put in over the years to raise their kids to be amazing adults. Thankful for a day to celebrate them all 💕
