Started putting out videos on “hacks” to get free products and services from brands and businesses. By way of contacting them repeatedly through social media and email. Claiming to be a fan of their products and services. Giving some story about how things are tight and they were wondering if the brand or business would send them a gift and they add their address. It became viral these videos on how to do this “hack”. Giving hundreds of thousands of people the idea to spam dozens of businesses at a time with the same messages. Leaving many businesses both big and small with inbox filled with these requests. What the “influencers” behind these videos didn’t mention what this only works for celebrities and even they would never slide into a businesses inbox or dm to ask for free things. So where are we now? Well, it’s time to address this. Small businesses of any kind have not had some grand rebound after COVID. In fact we have lost a significant number of small businesses. They are not flush with income, products and services they want to hand out. While your special events and occasions are super and small businesses are happy for you. This sensation of asking for free products and services for your events and special occasions needs to stop. The spamming of small businesses needs to stop. The trend of entitlement to small businesses offerings needs to stop. The harassing of small businesses across all platforms needs to stop. We’re small businesses and we do want to support our communities and we do donate to the schools and charities, we do our part. We do not however operate our businesses for random strangers who don’t support us, don’t engage with us and who don’t patron our businesses, to supply them with free goods and services. Asking for free anything from small businesses you don’t know is not trendy, it’s just tacky and disrespectful. Respectfully, just stop. Thank you.

This weekend was the peak of an incredible journey. I’ve always been dedicated to training hard, but this past year, I’ve pushed myself even further to pursue my dream of a dance career. @monstersdance has been my benchmark for progress. I was a novice at the Oct 2022 and Feb 2022 conventions. Then, in March 2023, I started a rigorous training plan aiming for the Oct 2023 convention in Reston. There, I was honored with the summer finale scholarship. Feeling accomplished, I knew my ultimate goal was to be nominated for the Monster Show. So, I doubled down on training. Returning to Monsters in February 2024, I was humbled to be nominated for the Monster Show cast by @kassbright. The recent Monsters A-list convention in Chicago and the Nominee Boot Camp marked the end of a year of hard work and preparation. I left everything in every room and on every stage. Another milestone was achieved this weekend. I won my third Monsters freestyle battle, making it six freestyle battle wins out of the seven conventions I attended this year! Thank you, @monstersdance, for being such a crucial part of my journey towards my dreams! Sorry but this has to be said! I try to run BOSSED UP POP UPS as professional as possible (asking for logos etc so I can promote) and yet I still find myself running around like a headless chicken asking for logos! Welppp as of May 1st, if you’re locked in for any event from May 25 to Dec 8 and the logos aren’t received in a timely fashion, there won’t be a custom flyer with your logo for you to promote ! Sorry!! This also messes with the groove of the way i promote! If you notice, i post the same posts DAILY in the stories. When a new flyer comes into the mix, I have to re save the stories again and add the new flyers so they all get posted at once! Also remember, I’m a one woman show !
